Influencer Laurie Shaw Revisits Bicep Curl Challenge Hoping For Bigger Gains

Laurie Shaw’s latest undertaking is to do 100 bicep curls for 30 days. Having already done this challenge once before, Shaw is using the suggestions from his previous attempt which pointed out that he wasn’t taking adequate rest days to achieve the appropriate muscle growth.

Now with the hopes of achieving bigger gains, Shaw is doing 100 bicep curls every two days rather than every day and plans to compare his results. There are three aspects Laurie Shaw intended to test during this challenge; the size of his biceps while tensing, the weight he is able to lift at the start versus the end, and how long it takes to complete the 100 reps as he progresses.

Initially, Laurie Shaw was optimistic and rather pleased with the results while being mindful of the potential of injuries from repetitive training.

“One thing I’m conscious about is injury throughout these 30 days because it’s such repetitive training. So far I’m feeling really good. It feels like I’ve torn the muscles each session in that good sense they’re tired, they’re sore but ya I’m conscious of that I’m trying to warm up and cool down before each session, do a lot of stretching so ya I’m feeling really good” Shaw said

However as the challenge progressed, Shaw began feeling fatigued and struggled to keep pushing through the workouts.

“It was only week two and my muscles felt completely depleted. It was hard to find the willpower to get to the gym let alone to push out the 100 reps. But we kept pushing through the discomfort even if the sessions took us a little bit longer and I was pretty exhausted, we got them done.”

Staying incredibly strong-minded, Laurie Shaw made it into the third week once again feeling good about the headway he was making. Shaw realized dropping weights allowed him to achieve more complete reps with better form.

“Before we knew it we were in week three and my arms started feeling a little bit stronger.”

Wrapping up his month of bicep curls, Laurie Shaw was feeling hopeful about what he had accomplished and shared that he didn’t have any injuries.

“This is the beginning of our final week. My arms do feel good. My arms feel like they have been worked harder the last few weeks but no injuries and Imm excited for next week for when we can test out if they got bigger.”

At the end of his challenge, Laurie Shaw measured his results by basing it on his initial three factors. For his arm size, he went up by .2cm before the 100 curls and an overall 1cm after the reps were completed. As for the weights, he started lifting 35 pounds but found reducing the weight to 30 pounds gave him better control of his form and made the goal easier to achieve.

Laurie Shaw is no stranger to body transformations. He previously completed a burpee challenge where he completed a staggering 3,000 burpees in just 30 days and saw incredible changes to his physique. Along with his absolutely ripped body, he also went from 181.8 pounds to 179.2 pounds which was a net loss of 2.6 pounds.

Laurie Shaw serves as an inspiration to those looking to get fit or simply learn a new skill. His combination of perseverance and can-do attitude makes him a gem to the fitness community. Fans can look forward to Shaw’s next venture as he continues to push the limits.
