Dana Linn Bailey Offers Daily Diet Tips and Meal Prepping Strategies
Since the dieting world is full of fads and misconceptions, Dana Linn Bailey busted some myths and provided her best tips on healthy eating.
“I think dieting for most people seems like the most complicated part of it all. Because when you go online, you’re going to see so much, number one, so many different types of diets. So much different information.”
“There’s too much. So I’m going to simplify it for you because it’s actually not that hard.”
Check out Bailey’s dieting tip checklist below:
Be consistent
“The first thing is be consistent. What you’re eating, how many times you’re eating, the portion sizes you’re eating, the timing of your food that you eat, so come up with a plan and it needs to be a realistic plan”
“Keep it simple, keep it similar, it will help you save time and re-evaluate.”
Make good choices
“Simple little choices can make a huge difference. Like, choosing water over soda or grilled over fried, whole food over processed, it’s making these simple choices especially when you’re traveling or eating out at a restaurant.
You’ll be able to look down the menu and there will be key terms like grilled, fresh, be able to know the difference. Don’t drink your calories. Choose water over alcohol, over soda, over sports drinks. Use that little noggin up there.”
Be prepared
“I am going to show you what I do to prepare for my week. So if I go to work and I don’t have enough food, this is going to take out the option to make bad choices.
Because a lot of times when you get hangry, and you all know what hangry is, when you’re hangry, you’re going to go to the fastest thing.”
Dana Linn Bailey then moved on to her meal prep, which included veggies (brussels sprouts, broccoli, and onions), shrimp, and bulk chicken.
“Sometimes I’ll add vegetable broth but this time I just added water.”
“An easy way to learn how to kind of get away from the scale is actually learning what four ounces of protein looks like or six ounces or protein. I can eye ball it so good because I’ve used a scale for so long especially through competitions. So I know exactly what four ounces looks like or should look like,” shares Linn Bailey.
Aside from tips regarding dieting and meal prepping, DLB is an open source of information for all topics related to fitness including her bodybuilding career. In June, Linn Bailey revealed that she never formally retired and teased a potential comeback. She also said she would love to see what kind of package she could produce after such a lengthy hiatus.
Always offering useful and calculated advice to her fans, DLB continues to represent the sport of bodybuilding to the best of her ability. Since dieting and meal prepping can come with its fair share of challenges, she hopes her insight helps to serve others in need.
