Eddie Hall is once again returning to combat sports and is training hard to pick up MMA. However, during his recent session, Hall got knocked out by his sparring partner, as seen in the video that he posted on YouTube. The KO did not leave any major effects on the 2016 World’s Strongest Man, but was intense enough to make him lose his balance and request some rest.

Eddie Hall is currently preparing for his upcoming MMA match against none other than Mitchell Hooper, the 2023 World’s Strongest Man. They are set to fight on February 17th, at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar.

Moreover, the fight is set to be a part of the ‘The Finishers Championship’, which will be a tournament style event. So, as per Eddie Hall, the winner of his match against Hooper will also fight against the winner of the Brian Shaw vs. Martyn Ford duel.

Eddie Hall Gets KO’d

Standing at 1,91 meters (6-ft 3-in) and weighing well over 300 pounds, Eddie Hall is clearly a humongous man. So, one might wonder, who was the guy that managed to knock him out in sparring. Well, the man in question was actually a professional Russian fighter who stands at around 2,05 meters (6-ft 9-in). So, it is clear that Hall was matched in size, to say the least.

Moreover, Eddie Hall suffered the KO in round one of sparring and still had an entire workout to perform. The Russian fighter landed a powerful high kick to the head. So, Hall’s body went stiff, and he dropped to the ground. He managed to get back up quickly but needed some time to recover from the kick.

“I was pre-warned that he was a bit of a lethal weapon. I was very cautious with this guy. Didn’t want to attack him, to be honest; I just wanted to feel each other out… It was a good wake up call for the first round of sparring.”

Eddie Hall then went against the other two fighters and held up well against them. Both sparring partners were also huge. So there was no disparity in size between them and Hall. After finishing the rounds, Hall performed some attacking drills in the cage.

Eddie Hall was then joined by Tom Aspinal, the current number one ranked heavyweight in the UFC. In fact, Tom was the one who organized the day for Hall and gave him the opportunity to face some pro fighters. While talking with him, Eddie touched up some more on the KO that happened earlier in the session.

“I thought I’d just keep my distance and work my way in when I can. Then, he just switched, (kicked with the) back leg, and I woke up on my back. So fair play to him,” said Hall.

“It is learning. I still crave and try to get myself into as many uncomfortable positions as I can. When you get into a fight and get uncomfortable, if you are not used to that, what are you going to do,” responded Tom Aspinal.

Eddie Hall has also announced that he will be sparring with Tom Aspinal soon, which will undoubtedly provide him with some more valuable experience. That being said, only four weeks remain until Eddie Hall takes on Mitchell Hooper, and potentially one other giant. So, everything that he has learned will be put to test soon.
