Nick Walker may be one of the most recognizable names in bodybuilding as of late but he still proves to be surprisingly relatable when hitting the gym. In a recent YouTube video, Nick Walker candidly discussed his biggest pet peeves during public training and gym etiquette.
Nick Walker has risen to prominence as one of the greatest bodybuilders of this generation. He has achieved this notable standing due to his exceptional muscle mass and impeccable conditioning. In the last few years, Walker emerged as a titan of the division, especially following his impressive third-place finish at the 2022 Mr. Olympia.
After such a striking and freaky display on bodybuilding’s biggest stage, Nick Walker was striving for a second Arnold Classic title in 2023. Although ‘The Mutant’ brought an imposing look to the event, he couldn’t thwart the superior physique and aesthetics displayed by Samson Dauda, ultimately landing him in second place.
Despite being unable to secure another Arnold Classic title, Nick Walker shifted his focus to the 2023 Mr. Olympia and was confident that it was his time. Before Nick Walker would have a chance to prove himself as Mr. Olympia champion, he suffered a hamstring tear that took him out of the competition just days before the event.

Nick Walker Shares Some Of His Gym Pet Peeves
Now, Nick Walker is back in the gym smashing leg days and recently shared in a YouTube video what really grinds his gears when trying to get a good pump in.
“I think my biggest one is someone texting their phone on a piece of equipment that I want to use. It’s not so much that it bother me but it’s when I go up to them.”
“I’m like, excuse me how many more sets do you have? They’ll be like oh I got one or two. Okay, and then they just go back to doing this [texting]. I’m like do you want to do a fucking set? I’m waiting.”
Initially, Nick Walker starts with a polite tone but once he’s had to wait, he speaks his mind.
“Sometimes I do [give them attitude]. If they are on their phone, let’s just say someone is on a chest press that I want to use, someone is one it, and they are sitting there with their phone, I go up politely and go how many more sets do you have? Whatever they say, I’m like okay cool. If I see them go right back and just [text], I’m like yo, do your set! Then I get the attitude” Walker said.
Walker doesn’t frown upon people who whip out their phones to quickly shuffle or switch a song.
“If you used your phone, nine times out of ten right, you use your phone for music. You’re going to simultaneously look at a message and be like, and now you’re doing it.”
“If you just change the song, and back in the pocket, you know what I mean. So I think that’s smart in my opinion. I don’t know.”
For the 2024 season, Walker will aim to recover from his career-altering hamstring and calf injury. Now that he’s had proper time off to let his body heal and grow, fans hope to see the freakiest Nick Walker yet when he chooses to map out his return to the stage.
The 2024 Mr. Olympia competition goes down October 10-13 in Las Vegas, Nevada in celebration of the promotion’s 60th anniversary. Walker did not finish in the top three at last year’s event therefore to make it to the big stage he has to win a Pro show or must receive a special invitation.
