Joey Swoll has built an army of positive gym-goers constantly looking to make working out a safer, more accepting environment, but unfortunately, this doesn’t always go as expected. In a recent Instagram post, Joey Swoll calls out a woman for shaming and embarrassing a man after spotting her incorrectly during squats.
“This man is nice enough to help you and you reward him by making fun of him on social media.”
Joey Swoll has been relentless on his mission to get rid of ‘toxic gym culture,’ allowing all individuals to work out in a safe and judgmental-free space. On this journey, Swoll has amassed a rather large following on social media, where he unintentionally became the ‘gym police.’
Joey Swoll Calls Out Woman Who Embarrasses Man For Helping Spot Her on Squats
While Joey Swoll is glad to be able to make a difference, it saddens him to remind others to be kind to one another. Oftentimes, individuals seek views and likes through social media at the expense of hurting and humiliating someone else. That was the case in Joey Swoll’s latest Instagram video, where he calls out a woman for shaming a man after he spots her incorrectly while doing squats.

“So you ask this man to spot you while squatting. He is nice enough to say yes and then you go and post this video to social media to make fun of him because he doesn’t spot you the right way?”
“And then you further try to embarrass him, make yourself look good by saying he had the audacity to ask you for your phone number, seriously?”
“Did you tell him beforehand that hey I’m going to film this and if you don’t spot me the right way I am going to post this online and make fun of you?”
Joey Swoll shares that the man was spotting her improperly however, he points out that she should have stopped the movement immediately if it meant risking injury. Instead, she chose to make fun of him on social media rather than explaining to him what he did wrong and how he could fix it.
“Now granted he doesn’t spot you the right way but you can see that in the first two reps and keep going so if you were really concerned about getting hurt you would’ve stopped.”
“It is uncomfortable enough to spot somebody the right way let alone a stranger of the opposite sex. So teach him, show him, but no you’d rather post a video on social media to make fun of him for likes and attention” Joey Swoll says.
Joey Swoll doesn’t miss a chance to condemn gym-goers creating inappropriate content in public gyms, including a woman creating content for her OnlyFans account as well as another woman exposing herself while in the presence of minors. He even got two ladies banned after they recorded a naked woman in the locker room.
It seems that no matter what, fitness centers will continue to deal with individuals who refuse to follow the rules or act inappropriately. However, with the help of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s easy-to-follow gym etiquette and Joey Swoll holding others accountable for their actions, there may be hope that everyone can train in peace and comfort.
