The groups for the qualifying stage of the 2024 World’s Strongest Man have been revealed on April 30th, a day before the start of the competition in Myrtle Beach. Eddie Hall and Terry Hollands, two legendary strongman athletes, were the ones who revealed the groups in an official ceremony and shared some thoughts about each one.

Like in previous years, the 2024 World’s Strongest Man qualifiers feature five groups of six athletes. All groups take on the same set of five events, after which the winner of each one directly qualifies for the finals. However, the second and third place finishers in each group go head-to-head in a special event called the ‘Stone Off’.

During the Stone Off, two athletes take turns lifting a huge Atlas Stone over a beam. They then repeat the process until one of them is unable to lift it anymore. So, the winner of the Stone Off from each group also qualifies for the finals.
