The 2024 America’s Strongest Man & Woman competitions took place on October 11-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both competitions consisted of the same six events, with the only difference being the weight increment of the implements. So, after two days of battling on the competition floor, Lucas Hatton and Olga Liashchuk managed to come out on top.
Lucas Hatton came to the 2024 America’s Strongest Man as the defending champion, having claimed the title last year. Well, he proved worthy of the title once again, winning two of six events and beating the second-place finisher by four points.
On the other hand, Olga Liashchuk came to the 2024 America’s Strongest Woman looking for redemption, having settled for silver last year. She definitely succeeded, winning five out of six events to completely dominate the competition. So, Olga left no doubt about who America’s Strongest Woman is.

Event One — Log Lift
For the first event of the competition, the athletes had to perform as many repetitions as possible on the Log Lift. They had the freedom of choosing one of two Logs. However, even just one rep with the heavier Log would beat any number of reps with the lighter one.
Men’s Weight: 163-kg (359.4-lb) or 136-kg (299.8-lb)
Women’s Weight: 102-kg (225-lb) or 84-kg (185.2-lb)

Lucas Hatton is known for his overhead pressing prowess, but he encountered another prodigy at the 2024 America’s Strongest Man, Tim Buck. The two men ended up in an epic battle at the first event of the competition, ultimately having to share the points for first place with six reps each.

The women’s division ended up with a similar situation to the men’s, as Olga Liashchuk and Nadia Stowers both locked out five repetitions with the Log. So, they tied for first-place and shared the points.

Event Two — Super Yoke
For the second event of the 2024 America’s Strongest Man & Woman, the athletes took on the Super Yoke. In turn, they had to carry a massive implement for a distance of 24 meters. The time limit was set at 60 seconds, but athletes hoped to finish the event as quickly as possible in order to gather the most points.

Women’s Weight: 272-kg (599.7-lb)

Following the tie in the first event, Lucas Hatton was determined to start building up his lead on the Super Yoke. So, he gave it his all, finishing the event in 17.59 seconds. He was once again chased by Tim Buck, but managed to finish one second before him.

Event Three — Shield Carry
Moving onto the third event of the 2024 America’s Strongest Man & Woman competition, the competitors faced a pain-inducing event. Namely, they had to pick up a massive shield-shaped implement and carry it for the maximum distance possible. So, they had to push through the pain in order to beat their rivals.
Men’s Weight: 193-kg (425.5-lb)
Women’s Weight: 136-kg (299.8-lb)

Kevin Faires was the biggest favorite for the Shield Carry event, as he is known for his resilience and incredible results on similar events. Well, he fulfilled the expectations, carrying the Shield for a distance of 47.47 meters. It was a tight battle, however, as Trevor Ucker dropped his implement at the 47.02-meter mark.

Following the trend, Olga Liashchuk once again topped the leaderboards on the Shield Carry. She achieved a distance of 38.33 meters, beating Erin Murray by 4.5 meters. At this point, Olga started building up a substantial lead, clearly proving that she is the favorite.

Event Four — Deadlift Ladder
The fourth event of the 2024 America’s Strongest Man & Woman competition turned to the basics. So, it tasked the athletes with performing four progressively heavier deadlifts in the shortest time possible.
Men’s Weight: 315-kg (694.5-lb) up to 388-kg (855.4-lb)
Women’s Weight: 197-kg (434.3-lb) up to 247-kg (544.5-lb)

There was one clear winner of the Deadlift Ladder in the men’s division and it was Lucas Hatton. He was the only man that managed to finish all four deadlifts, while the majority of the roster only completed three.

Event Five — Sandbag Toss
The penultimate event of 2024 America’s Strongest Man & Woman was the Sandbag Toss. It consisted of five implements, which had to be tossed over a 5.18-meter-high beam. The goal was to finish the event in the quickest time possible.
Men’s Weight: 20-kg (44-lb) up to 25-kg (55-lb)
Women’s Weight: 10-kg (22-lb) up to 15-kg (33-lb)

Once again, only one man managed to get all five sandbags over the beam. However, in this instance, it was Andrew Burton who did so in a time of 27.44 seconds. Multiple athletes finished four of the sandbags, but Josh Hatfield was the fastest among them, which secured him a second-place finish.

The 2024 America’s Strongest Man & Woman competition wrapped up with one of the most iconic events in strength sports, the Atlas Stones. In this event, the athletes were tasked with picking up and loading a series of boulders onto their respective platforms. The goal was to lift all five implements in the shortest time possible.
Men’s Weight: 147-kg (324-lb) up to 193-kg (425.5-lb)
Women’s Weight: 102-kg (225.9-lb) up to 147-kg (324-lb)

The Atlas Stones featured the greatest battle in the men’s division of the entire competition. It took place between two athletes, as Kevin Faires and Lucas Hatton were both aiming to take maximum points. Namely, only 0.10 seconds separated the two, with Faires coming out on top.
