Prescillia Bavoil’s resume shows just how great of a legacy she has built in the 63-kilogram weight class over the course of her career. However, for the past two years or so, Prescillia has competed in heavier weight classes. Well, she has now decided to cut down to her original weight class once again and is already finding more success than ever. Specifically, Prescillia managed to complete a 213.5-kilogram (470.7-pound) raw squat during a recent training session, thus Unofficially exceeding the U63KG IPF World Record.

Prescillia Bavoil approached the 213.5-kilogram (470.7-pound) squat with confidence, hyping herself up while wearing a lifting belt and a pair of knee sleeves. She then picked up the bar and took a deep breath to brace for the task at hand. Everything went smoothly for Prescillia, allowing her to squat to depth and quickly transition to the ascent. She encountered a small sticking point, but it didn’t take too much effort for Bavoil to push through and achieve lockout.

*Despite not competing in the U63KG weight class for some time, Prescillia Bavoil still holds the IPF Raw Squat World Record. Her lift of 213 kilograms (469.6 pounds) from the 2022 IPF Arnold Sports Festival is still the heaviest squat ever officially performed in the weight class.

Prescillia Bavoil is clearly very excited to return to the 63-kilogram weight class, as seen by her post-lift reaction and the caption she shared on Instagram. Namely, she wrote, “I will keep saying it – WE ARE SO BACK”. Moreover, Lya has also boasted of her deadlift progress on another post, sharing a 220-kilogram (485-pound) pull and announcing that she hopes to get a world record in this event as well. So, it is clear that Prescillia has huge plans for the future.

Prescillia Bavoil has set her eyes on the 2025 SBD Sheffield Powerlifting Championships, which is set to take place on January 26th in the United Kingdom. She will be one of 24 elite powerlifters competing at the highest-paid competition of the year. She placed second in the women’s division in 2024, which is why she is pushing herself even harder now, hoping to improve her result next year. Setting unofficial World Records in training definitely shows that she is one of the favorites for the title.

Prescillia Bavoil has been competing in powerlifting for nearly a decade now, during which she has taken part in 28 sanctioned competitions and won 21 of them. Most notably, Lya won two IPF World Championships, two EPF European Championships, and a plethora of other elite competitions. Furthermore, she holds World Records in both the 63-kilogram and 69-kilogram weight classes.
