Jonathan Cayco had an incredible return to the 2025 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships. He took the stage on June 12th in Chemnitz, Germany, competing in the 93-kilogram weight class. There he displayed his bench press prowess, lifting 246 kilograms (542.3 pounds) to set a new IPF World Record.

Jonathan Cayco was a level above everyone else on the opening lift of the bench press session, lifting a massive 232.5-kilogram (512.6-pound) load. So, it was immediately clear that Jonathan came into the competition with a goal to make history.

For his second lift, Jonathan Cayco once again put on a pair of wrist wraps before proceeding to the 246-kilogram (542.3-pound) bench press. After some mental preparation, Jonathan lowered the bar down to his chest in a controlled fashion and started pressing it back up. As a result, he further advanced the U93KG IPF World Record.

Cayco then decided to increase the weight by 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) for his final attempt. Unfortunately, he was unable to successfully complete the lift, which meant that his record from the second attempt would remain.

*Jonathan Cayco also held the previous U93KG IPF World Record of 245.5-kg (541.2-lb). He set that record at the 2024 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships.
