What’s Next for 7x Mr. Olympia Phil Heath?

At the 2018 Mr. Olympia Weekend a historic moment happened when Shawn Rhoden registered a huge upset and take the title away from 7x Mr. Olympia Phil Heath, Rhoden became the 14th recipient of the Sandow Trophy.

Phil Heath was aiming to become the third bodybuilder in the history of bodybuilding to win eight Mr. Olympia titles, but he finished second. After retaining the Mr. Olympia title for seven years, many fans were wondering what kind of reaction Phil Heath will have after losing the crown. Would he be angry or humble? Would he be cocky and what’s next for him? In the recent interview with Muscular Development’s Ron Harris, Phil Heath shares his thoughts on coming at the second position at 2018 Mr. Olympia and where he goes from here.

” …it’s gonna feel like
someone shot me in the chest so when he said and NEW.. I was like f**k… I mean it hurt it hurt…”

Answering a question about his Hernia issue, Phil Heath revealed that he needs another intense 4~6 hour long surgery:

“Yeah, unfortunately, I do [need a surgery] a lot more intense four to six-hour surgery…
honestly, it was something that needed to happen anyway, it was something that I was already told I was probably gonna have in three to five years…

I go with [Surgery] on the 18th of October.

On being asked about fellow bodybuilder Kai Greene, Phil says Kai Greene DM him after the Olympia. It’s well documented that both Kai Greene and Phil Heath has had quite a rivalry ever since the 2012 Mr. Olympia competition.
