The 2025 Strongest Arm On Earth took place on August 15 in Loveland, Colorado. One of the main matches of the night involved Brian Shaw, who competed in front of his home crowd. Brian took on Brandon Allen, a high-profile figure in both the strength and arm wrestling communities. While it was expected to be a challenge for Brian, he ended up crushing his opponent to take the win.

Brian Shaw vs Brandon Allen

Round One

The hands of the athletes slipped at the start of round one, prompting the judges to put on straps and avoid the issue during the restart. Interestingly, Brandon managed to stop Brian’s efforts while in the strap and even got the pin, but committed an elbow foul in the process. So, the round was restarted once again. The outcome, however, was no different, as Brandon used his press technique to take down Brian. As a result, he took the lead of 0-1.

Round Two

The second round was completely different, as Brian Shaw did not allow Brandon Allen to slip his hand and force straps once again. While Brian did seem on route to take the round win, Brandon fouled by lifting his elbow off the pad, forcing a restart. Starting all over, Brian still did not allow Brandon to slip and also utilized the top roll technique to get the pin and the round win for a score of 1-1.

Round Three

The third round of the matchup was the most intense one as well. It started off with Brandon trying to slip his hand, but not being able to. However, he did commit a foul, forcing a restart. Once the round started again, the hands of the athletes slipped, resulting in a strap being put on. Brandon tried everything to stop Brian, but Shaw’s pressing power proved to be too much. Brian took the lead 2-1.

Round Four

Similar to previous rounds, Brandon Allen elbow fouled, forcing the restart once again. This had no effect on Brian, who started pressing Brandon’s hand towards the pad with ease. While trying to defend the effort in any way he could, Brandon committed another elbow foul, thus losing the point and the match 3-1.

Result: Brian Shaw Wins

Brian Shaw has one arm wrestling match prior to this, having beaten Eddie Hall in late 2024. While he did get a lot of praise at the time, there were also some key areas that he had to improve on. Well, eight months have passed and Brian has made tons of improvements. Brandon challenged him with multiple techniques and tricks, but Brian adjusted well and took the win.

“Brandon came in ready. You have to take your hat off to him. He gave me some different looks on the table that I needed to adjust to.

He was putting a lot of side pressure on me that I had to match. So, each setup was a battle in itself without a doubt… So, his experience, I had to try to navigate that and overcome it and thankfully I was able to get it done.

I really wanted a challenge with Brandon and I got all of that with him and it was great. He prepared well… It is another step in the journey, without a doubt. I still 100% believe that I have a lot of improvements to make,” said Brian Shaw in his post match YouTube interview.

Brandon Allen came in completely ready for his match against Brian Shaw, packing on over 300 pounds of bodyweight and feeling extremely strong. However, despite taking multiple approaches in hopes of utilizing Brian’s lack of experience, Brandon simply could not overcome Shaw’s raw power.

Brandon Allen definitely proved to be a worthy opponent to Shaw, as he is also one of the most powerful people on earth. His strength stems from powerlifting, where he spent half a decade competing at the highest level. Brandon achieved a number of impressive lifts, including a 1,008-pound squat with wraps, 573-pound raw bench press, and a raw 854-pound deadlift.

“I couldn’t (slip and get the strap). I tried everything, all the little tricks and he just had a death grip on the thumb and would not let go… He pulled eight months ago, if that man showed up today, I would have killed him. Brian has leveled up so much in the last eight months, it is crazy.

If we would have gotten into the strap, I am pretty sure I would have gotten the win. But he did everything he could to keep it out of the strap and it worked for him.

When you are as strong as him, the technique doesn’t really matter too much,” said Brandon Allen in his post-match interview.

Brian Shaw’s journey in arm wrestling has just started, as he has some big plans for the future. However, he is making sure to take it step-by-step, progressively increasing the difficulty of his challenges. So, it remains to be seen who his next opponent will be.

On the other hand, Brandon Allen did not let the defeat get to him. Instead, he called out any other Strongman or arm wrestling athletes who think that they can take him down.
