The 2025 Strongest Arm On Earth was organized in combination with East vs West 19 on August 15th in Loveland, Colorado. One of the most prominent matches featured the former World’s Strongest Man, Eddie Hall, and his arch rival, Robert Oberst. The rivalry carried over to the arm wrestling table, with Eddie taking the win after multiple exciting rounds.
Eddie Hall vs Robert Oberst Overview
Round One
The first round surprised many, as Robert Oberst flash pinned Eddie Hall straight out of the gates. However, he committed an elbow foul and had to restart the round. The scenario didn’t change much the second time around, but this time it was Hall who committed a foul. With one more restart, Oberst quickly pinned Hall once again and took the 1-0 lead.
Round Two
Robert Oberst had a better start to the second round, but could quite finish the job. On the other hand, Eddie managed to show some impressive technique, regriping Robert’s hand and getting into a favourable position. Upon further inspection, it turned out that Hall fouled, resulting in another restart. At this point, it seemed that Oberst was running out of energy, as Eddie easily pinned him with a top roll to make the score 1-1.
Round Three
The third round saw Eddie Hall take the win once more, utilizing his experience to drop Robert Oberst’s hand with ease. After making the score 2-1 in favor of Eddie, Robert decided to forfeit the remaining rounds because of an injury scare.

Eddie Hall has had just one other arm wrestling match prior to his duel against Robert Oberst, and it took place in late 2024. He faced none other than Brian Shaw, which made for an unforgettable experience for both the athletes and the fans. Brian ended up getting the win, but Eddie showed some promising elements.
Fast forward to August 2025, Eddie Hall finally achieved his first arm wrestling victory against an impressive opponent. His technique stood out once again, showing glimpses of how great he can move on the table. Moreover, Eddie revealed that he didn’t have time to prepare for the matchup, completing only five training sessions in the lead-up to the duel.
“I think the key was Oberst not being too experienced. He was loading a lot. So, what I did in the second round was take his load away… When the round started I was probably an inch over his side, but it let me snatch back all the speed. So, a little adaptation in the second match (round) and then it was so easy from there. Once I got my speed rolling — unstoppable.
It (arm wrestling) was good fun. I see it as a bit of a combat sport… It gets that adrenaline going, so in that respect, I love it.
I had five table time sessions for this match… I’ve just been so busy with my fight training,” said Eddie Hall in his post-match YouTube interview.
