The 2026 CrossFit Games are already on the radar for both the athletes and fans of the sport. Therefore, many were looking forward to hearing where the biggest competition of the next season will take place. Well, as per the recent announcement, the 2026 CrossFit Games will take place on July 24-26 in San Jose, California.

The CrossFit Games have been moving frequently in recent times, with the competition taking place in Wisconsin, Texas, and New York in previous years. Consequently, one of the biggest questions for the 2026 season was the location and date of the Games. Well, the announcement was initially made by none other than Tia-Clair Toomey, the eight-time Fittest Woman On Earth. It was later shared via an Instagram video featuring the 2024 CrossFit Games winner, James Sprague.

The exact venue for the 2026 CrossFit Games will be the SAP Center, also known as “The Shark Tank”. It has the capacity to seat over 17,000 people and spans across an area of roughly 650,000 square feet. The atmosphere should therefore be electrifying for the individuals and teams that make it to the 2026 CrossFit Games.

Interestingly, the inaugural edition of the CrossFit Games took place in Aromas, California, back in 2007. It was then moved to Carson, California, from 2010 until 2016. So, the Games are now going back to their roots, nearly two decades after they first began.

With the date and location for the CrossFit Games revealed, the stage is officially set for the entire 2026 season. It will kick off with the 2026 CrossFit Open, which will take place in an online format from February 26 to March 16.

From there, the top 25% of athletes will move on to the 2026 CrossFit Quarterfinals, which are making a return after being removed in 2025. This stage of the season will also be held virtually, with those competing having to send in video submissions of workouts that will be revealed in a timely manner.

Additionally, there will be a separate, virtual Online Semifinals stage that will offer a limited number of final qualifying spots. Ultimately, only 30 men and 30 women will make their way to San Jose, California, to compete at the 2026 CrossFit Games.
