The 2026 CrossFit Open is officially coming to a close, as the final workout, 26.3, was announced live from the Gymreapers Wodapalooza stage in Miami, Florida on March 12th. It marks the third and final week of the Open, bringing an end to the first stage of the 2026 season.

This 2026 CrossFit Open Workout 26.3 is a high-volume series of burpees and a heavy barbell ladder. Athletes will have to manage their heart rate on the burpees to save enough strength for the increasing weights on the cleans and thrusters.

The Matchup

To reveal the workout, three of the top women in the sport faced off  live in Miami. Those women are Danielle Brandon, Arielle Loewen, and Olivia Kerstetter.

Danielle Brandon is a CrossFit veteran with seven Games appearances. She finished fourth at the 2025 CrossFit Games and is known for her elite speed and gymnastics.

Arielle Loewen is best known for her third-place finish at the 2023 Games. She is also a five-time Games athlete and one of the most consistent performers in the field.

Olivia Kerstetter is only 20 years old, but she has already amassed a lot of success. Kerstetter finished third at the 2025 Games, making her one of the greatest CrossFitters at the moment. She is known for her incredible strength, which made her a favorite for this barbell-heavy workout.

  3. Arielle Loewen

Olivia Kerstetter emerged as the winner of the 2026 CrossFit Open Workout 26.3. She only got better as the weight increased, which allowed her to continue extending her lead against Brandon and Loewen. She ended up winning the event and was just three reps shy of finishing the event.

On the other hand, Loewen had a great start to the event but started dropping behind about 10 minutes into the workout. Brandon maintained a steady pace from the start and finished in second place. All three women were completely exhausted after the workout, showing that it is truly an incredibly difficult set of exercises.
