The 2026 Strongman Champions League Ohio contest took place over Labor Day weekend on September 5–6 in Sandusky, Ohio. The two-day show brought together 14 international competitors to tackle 6 events. After a close battle down to the final event, Andrew Langelaar ended up on top.
Langelaar locked in the victory with 77.5 total points. Austin Hamm finished in second place with 69 points, while Patrick Eibel took third with 63.5 points. Andrew earned two event wins in the Arm Over Arm Pull and the Medley, with his lowest event placing being a fourth-place finish in the Plane Pull.

Event One — Plane Pull
The 2026 Strongman Champions League Ohio kicked off with the Plane Pull event. So, the athletes were tasked with pulling a 9,743-kilogram (21,479-pound) plane for a distance of 20 meters. They were given just 60 seconds to complete the event, but aimed to do it quicker since time was the separator.
Patrick Eibel ranked first in the opening event of the competition, reaching the finish line in 34.59 seconds. He put in a lot of effort to get the plane moving but then used the momentum and just kept picking up the pace.
Kevin Hazeleger was the second quickest man to complete the event, doing so in a time of 35.93 seconds. Furthermore, Austin Hamm was the only other competitor to reach the finish line in under 40 seconds, thus claiming third place with a time of 39.97 seconds.

Event Two — Arm Over Arm Pull
Moving on to the second event of the 2026 Strongman Champions League Ohio, the athletes had to pull a 14,300-kilogram (31,526-pound) Truck. Contrary to the first event where they were anchored to the plane and used their body to pull it, this time, the athletes had to grip a rope tied to the front of the truck and pull it in toward themselves. The distance was once again set to 20 meters and the time cap was 60 seconds.
No athlete managed to complete the entire event within the allotted time, potentially because of the exhaustion from the previous event. Jesper Hansson, however, was the closest man to the finish line, reaching a distance of 19 meters before he ran out of time. He was far ahead of everyone else, which earned him a very convincing event win.
Andrew Langelaar claimed second place with a score of 16 meters, stringing together great performances across both opening events. He was followed by Péter Juhász, who claimed third place with a score of 14.9 meters, beating Austin Hamm by just 0.05 meters.

Event Three — Medley
For the third event of the competition, the athletes took on a Medley. It consisted of three implements: a 227-kilogram (500.4-pound) Anchor carry, 120-kilogram (264.6-pound) Duck walk, and a 227-kilogram (500.4-pound) Drag. The distance was set to 20 meters for each implement, coming out to 60 meters in total.
Andrew Langelaar continued putting up incredible performances and earned himself his first event win of the 2026 Strongman Champions League Ohio. He achieved the quickest time out of everyone in the lineup and was the only one who managed to complete the event in under one minute.
Péter Juhász crossed the finish line five seconds after Langelaar, which was enough to claim second place. Jan Lacina was another four second slower than Péter, with which he rounded out the top three.

Event Four — Viking Press
The second half of the 2026 Strongman Champions League Ohio started off with the Viking Press. Specifically, the athletes had to complete as many reps of an overhead press on a custom apparatus. The weight they lifted came out to 180 kilograms (396.8 pounds).
Austin Hamm put up a masterclass on the Viking Press, showcasing absolutely incredible upper body strength. He continued stringing together reps all throughout the event and ended up with a score of 17, which was more than enough to take the event win.
Andrew Langelaar and Jan Lacina tied for second place, as they ended up completing 13 repetitions each. Both men pushed themselves to the limits, hoping to get the winning edge. However, they turned out to be equally capable on the day and had to share the points.

Event Five — Tuffman Skid Steer Wheelbarrow
The penultimate event of the 2026 Strongman Champions League Ohio was the Tuffman Skid Steer Wheelbarrow. Consequently, the athletes had to push large mechanical wheelbarrows weighing 350 kilograms (771.6 pounds) each. The distance they had to cover was set to 20 meters, while they were also given 60 seconds to complete the event.
The spectacular Andrew Langelaar continued making steps toward the title with an impressive performance on the fifth event. He demonstrated his speed and cruised through the course to secure a time of 20.97 seconds. At this point, Langelaar went 5.5 points clear at the top of the overall leaderboard.
Following his win in the previous event, Austin Hamm put up another great performance to place second in the Wheelbarrow event. He was approximately 1.5 seconds slower than Langelaar but also 0.69 seconds faster than the third-place finisher, Jan Lacina.

Event Six — Mickey’s Atlas Stones
The final event of the 2026 Strongman Champions League Ohio was the Micker’s Atlas Stones. It consisted of six stones ranging in weight from 120 kilograms (264.6 pounds) to 222 kilograms (489.4 pounds). Each stone had to be loaded onto its respective platform. As the stones got heavier, the platform’splatform’s height decreased. The time cap was set to 60 seconds and tacky was allowed.
No one managed to complete the entire stone run, but multiple athletes were successful in lifting five stones. Kevin Hazeleger was the quickest to do so, achieving a time of 32.25 seconds. However, Andrew Langelaar stole the spotlight 1.4 seconds later, finishing second in the event and officially claiming the overall win. Patrick Eibel placed third in the Atlas Stones event and also claimed the bronze medal overall.

At 29 years old, Langelaar is stepping directly into his prime. Having now competed in five international shows, this victory marks his second international title alongside his win at the 2026 Magnús Classic Gimli. With momentum firmly on his side, the Canadian Strongman star clearly has plenty more in store for the future.
