The Asia CrossFit Championship is a new sanctioned events which took place in Shanghai, China April 27th-29th and some amazing athletes came out to battle for a spot at the CrossFit Games in August.
But only a few were able to move on and these athletes included Brent Fikowski from Canada, Kristin Holte from Norway, and Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom from the U.S.
Brent Fikowski placed 184th in the Open and this is a big win for him. His best finish was 2nd at the 2017 CrossFit Games which means he’s an elite athlete and a real contender for the title this year.
Kristin Holte is a three-time CrossFit veteran who best finishes were 7th at the 2017 and 2018 CrossFit Games. So, it’s no surprise she ran away with the win. But since she won the National Championship in Norway, she has already qualified for the Games so second place Eik Gylfadottir will receive an invite instead.
The four-time men’s CrossFit Champion (2011-2014) Rich Froning and his team Mayhem Freedom (Dre Strohm, Chyna Cho, and Tasia Percevecz) won all 6 events and made quick work of the competition. They beat Invictus Grown Strong and Project X to seal the deal.
