This past Saturday, America got this year’s answer to the “who is the strongest guy here?” question. The answers is Nicolas Cambi for the “lighter” guys of the 105kg weight class, and Josh Silvas for the “behemoths” of the Strongman world.
Josh Silvas in the open weight class, put on a clinic on the competition. He either won or tied for first place in 4 out of 6 events. The only two events he didn’t win were the loading race and the Texas stones. The most impressive part of his dominance was his 420kg deadlift.
Which went up fairly smoothly, seemingly hinting that he might be joining the 1000lbs(453kg) deadlift club very soon. If the first-place achievement wasn’t good enough on its own, he also got a 12k $ bonus check just for the fact that he is a badass. Here’s what Josh Silvas said about the experience in his own words.

I came in as an amateur, beat the pros, WON, now I became a pro! I Am America’s Strongest Man 2021! Thank you God for allowing me your strength, blessings, and love to do this!
Going up against the pros as an amateur is quite an achievement. Also, he’s not even in his thirtys where most Strongman competitors tend to peek. This all means, despite him already dominating the competion-his best is yet to come.

Now let us move on to the 105kg division, where Nicolas Cambi continues his 2021 winning streak. So far he has won the 2021 Clash on the Coast contest in May, then earlier this month, he won the 2021 Clash at the Corral contest. There, he scored two U105kg world record- log lift(187kg) and block press(141.5kg). So when I say he’s on a winning streak, I mean it. So it comes as no surprise that when he entered America’s Strongest Man contest, he won it easily and cashed in an additional 12k bonus check. It also helps that he is the reigning and defending America’s Strongest Man 6 years in a row.
