Ade Omisakin had an impressive career in the Junior division, but has not been in the spotlight as much since transitioning to the Open class. Well, that is about to change, since Ade’s performance at the 2024 Western European Powerlifting Championships has made him the king of the 83-kilogram weight class. Namely, Omisakin managed to set a new 861-kilogram (1,898.2-pound) Raw Total U83KG IPF World Record.

Ade Omisakin’s Full Performance

Ade Omisakin had seven out of nine successful attempts at the 2024 Western European Powerlifting Championships, missing his second attempts on both the squat and the deadlift. However, he still managed to beat the former U83KG IPF Total World Record by a staggering 16 kilograms (35.3 pounds).

Squat

A good start to the competition was imperative for Ade Omisakin who knew that he had big goals to accomplish. However, he faced a huge challenge, having missed his second attempt of 297.5 kilograms (655.9 pounds).

In turn, Ade Omisakin found himself under a lot of pressure going into his final attempt. Luckily, he managed to lock out 305.5 kilograms (673.5 pounds), setting a new Competition PR for himself.

Bench Press

Ade Omisakin was excited to show off his newfound progress on the bench press. So, his second attempt of 190 kilograms (418.9 pounds) was already enough for a new competition PR.

However, Ade Omisakin had more up his sleeve, adding an additional 2.5 kilograms (5.5 pounds) for his final attempt. He found success once again and set himself on the right track.

Deadlift

Although he had an incredible performance throughout the first two events, Ade Omisakin still had a lot to face. The task became even more intense once he failed his second attempt of 347.5 kilograms (766.1 pounds).

Omisakin was still confident and decided to load 363 kilograms (800.3 pounds) onto the barbell. Fortunately, Ade locked out the lift with ease, utilizing a sumo stance and a mixed grip.
