Agata Sitko is just 22 years old, but she has already made a case for why she might be the greatest pound-for-pound powerlifter in the world. However, Agata came out with some surprising news recently, revealing that her license has been suspended by the Poland Powerlifting Federation (PZKFiTS). So, she is set to face significant restrictions until the situation is resolved.
As per her Instagram post, Agata Sitko revealed that she received a suspension because of an altercation between her coach and the PZKFiTS federation. Agata was preparing for the 2025 IPF World Games, which are scheduled to take place on August 7-17 in Chengdu, China, when she received news that the federation would not allow her coach to come to the competition. On the other hand, Agata felt much more comfortable with her coach present and was disappointed that he was not able to come.
As a result, she decided to withdraw from the 2025 IPF World Games. Agata was then faced with questions from the PZKFiTS regarding her decision and answered them honestly. In retaliation, Agata’s license was suspended, thus making her ineligible to compete in any IPF events. Agata’s coach also hinted that the entire situation might have been because of someone targeting him for unknown reasons.
“In general, traveling for me is very stressful. I do not like to travel, especially for such long distances and to new places, and especially when I have to do it myself…
I would be left alone without someone I trust and know well…
I am not the property of PZKFiTS and should not be forced to compete…

It probably means that I will not be able to compete at Sheffield… which is a big blow for me both mentally and financially, because I live from competing.”

Note: PZKFiTS addressed the situation publicly, prompting Agata Sitko and her coach to share a response and talk about the situation at an even deeper level. Her response is contained in the second Instagram post below.
The IPF has not made official announcements regarding Agata Sitko’s suspension so far. However, as she explains, the regulations state that she is not able to get a new license for a span of six months. This would make her ineligible to compete at the 2026 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships, which is widely considered to be the most stacked powerlifting competition of the season. Agata secured her invite by winning the 69KG weight class at the 2025 IPF World Championships.
It would definitely be an enormous loss for the entire powerlifting community if Agata Sitko is forced to miss out on multiple high-profile competitions. She is on an incredible streak of results, winning pretty much all major titles at an extremely young age. This is reflected in her resume, which shows that Agata has taken part in 41 sanctioned powerlifting competitions and took the win on 28 occasions. That includes multiple Open and Junior IPF World Championships, EPF European Championships, as well as two consecutive IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships titles. In addition to that, Agata has set countless Raw and Equipped World Records across multiple age and weight classes.

Agata Sitko has built her life around her powerlifting career, which turned out to be very successful. However, that means that this suspension will not only affect her ambition to claim major titles, but it will also have a big impact on her financial well-being. Moreover, she proved in recent years that she is one of the best powerlifters in the world, meaning that any major competition without her in it would experience a massive gap that could not be filled.
