CrossFit Athlete Alanna Fisk Colón Fails Drug Test After Qualifying For 2020 Games

This is terrible news for the first-time CrossFit Games qualifier.

Alanna Fisk Colón may join the list of other athletes who have been banned from CrossFit competition due to a failed drug test. Although, she’s just the second to have tested positive during the 2020 season (other was Greek national champion Lefteris Theofanidis). But this would bring the total to eight positive drug tests counting last season as well. Colón already qualified for the 2020 CrossFit Games through Regional competition where she came in 21st place. This would have been her first appearance too.

She was tested at the 2020 Wodapalooza CrossFit Festival a few weeks back and the results came back positive for the metabolites of two oral substances. It’s unfortunate though because she placed 8th at the event which earned her $4,020 plus $2,020 in prize money for winning a single event.

But she’s currently working with CrossFit to determine what may have resulted in a positive drug test in an effort to redeem herself. Although, if the results stand as they are, Rachel Garibay will take her spot at the 2020 CrossFit Games, who placed 40th at the 2019 Games and the 2020 Open.
