Antonio Perez Barros has once again put up an incredible performance at the 2024 EPF European University Cup. The competition took place on March 1-3, in Nancy, France, with Antonio competing in the 105-kilogram weight class. As expected, he secured a gold medal, but also managed to set a new 335-kilogram (738.5-pound) Raw Squat IPF Junior World Record.

Antonio Perez Barros opened up with a squat of 300 kilograms (661.4 pounds), a weight that none of his 11 rivals managed to lift in all three of their attempts. So, he immediately proved his dominance, but had much more left in the tank. So, he made a jump to 320 kilograms (705.5 pounds) for his second squat attempt, once again lifting the weight comfortably.

With one attempt left and a humongous lead in hand, Antonio Perez Barros decided to take a risk and shoot his shot at a new IPF Junior World Record. So, he loaded 335 kilograms (738.5 pounds) on the bar, and walked out with confidence. Soon enough, Antonio found himself under the bar and proceeded to lower the weight down to the competition requirement. He then shot back up, making the lift look effortless.

The previous U105KG Raw Squat IPF Junior World Record was held by none other than Antonio Perez Barros. He set that record by squatting 333 kilograms (734.1 pounds) at the 2023 IPF World Junior and Sub-Junior Classic Championships.
