At 23 years old, Betty Aborah is still eligible to compete in the Junior division. So, she appeared in the 2025 EPF European Sub-Junior & Junior Classic Powerlifting Championships on December 4th in Druskininkai, Lithuania. She competed as a U63KG athlete and set a 241-kilogram (531.3-pound) Raw Deadlift IPF World Record.

Betty Aborah started off with a 210-kilogram (463-pound) pull, which was basically a warm-up for her. She also crushed 225 kilograms (496 pounds) on her second attempt, securing the title and giving herself the opportunity to go for the World Record on her last lift.

Just hours before Betty Aborah made her appearance at the 2025 EPF European Junior Powerlifting Championships, Galina Abramova managed to set a new record of 240.5 kilograms (530.2 pounds) at the 2025 Asian Open and Masters Equipped & Classic Powerlifting Championships.

Consequently, Betty Aborah loaded 241 kilograms (531.3 pounds) in order to set a new World Record. She performed the deadlift with a sumo stance and a hook grip, easily picking the bar off the floor but needing a moment to stabilize her lockout. The judges then validated her lift, making it a new IPF World Record.

Betty Aborah’s Full Performance Breakdown

Betty Aborah missed just one attempt during her performance, which was her second lift on the bench press. As a result, Betty was crowned the 2025 EPF European Junior Champion, thus claiming her second consecutive title.

Betty Aborah has been competing in powerlifting for more than three years, which shows that she is already a very experienced lifter despite her young age. She has taken part in 19 sanctioned competitions and won 14 of them, including the 2025 IPF World Junior and Sub-Juniors Powerlifting Championships, which marks one of her greatest achievements yet.

Betty Aborah has also competed in the Open age class at the 2025 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships. It turned out to be a great display of her strength, as she placed fifth among a very stacked roster of athletes. Therefore, it is safe to assume that she will continue improving in the upcoming years and perhaps even contend for the title.
