Bodybuilding influencer and personality Alfredo Martin has passed away suddenly, according to a social media post made by his partner. Martin was only 30 years old and his death remains a mystery.
Known on Instagram and YouTube as Héroe Fitness and Villano Fitness, Alfredo Martin became a beloved member of the bodybuilding community. Boasting an impressive frame, a ripped lower body, and impressive proportions, he fell in love with his craft and brought an electric energy to every single one of his training sessions.
From workouts and physique updates, to exercise tips, Martin’s passion for building muscle fueled his daily life. In addition to the above, Martin was honest and open about his use of performance-enhancing drugs. He even authored and published a book about the most commonly used substances in fitness and bodybuilding, per the publisher Editorial Transverso.

“I don’t know what it means to hit rock bottom because no one so close to me has ever died, but I’m discovering that what comes after the loss is much worse—the return to an empty home, the lack of response when I say “I love you” in a loud voice, the longing for your caresses, your smile (serious but loving), your warmth, your hug, your kisses, all the everyday things we did together. Waking up in an empty house that was once shared, closing the room that we spent most of the time in because I can’t stand being in it—it’s too painful, and I keep imagining you there. The inability to sleep in the bed because we shared it, and now I “sleep” on the couch.”
Well, sleep, I don’t sleep. The change in the routine of my day and my weeks, the wait for my phone to turn on with a message from you, passing by all the usual places we went to. All the broken plans and the promises of things I always wanted to do with you or do for you that can never be fulfilled. All the things you see, and I say to myself, “I bet you would love this,” and I “want” to tell you about it or surprise you with it. The sudden realization that I can’t, and the million other minor details that are now missing from my life after losing you.
All things are almost worse than death itself. Nothing can ever fill that place, and it never will. Can you die of heartbreak? I could almost wish so.
I love you, wherever you are,” his partner shared.
Unfortunately, this hasn’t been the only sudden death to rock the bodybuilding community. In addition to the mysterious demise of popular bodybuilding influencer Jo Lindner, other athletes have lost their lives prematurely. In October, Brazilian bodybuilder Christian Figueiredo died due to liver complications.
Considering the rate at which athletes are dying, some in the sport such as Kali Muscle and Seth Feroce believe steroids could be to blame. They’ve both gone on record in hopes of discouraging younger audiences from traversing down a dangerous path.
