Navy SEAL David Goggins doesn’t shy away from anything, including his fanbase, who suggested that he’s using performance-enhancing drugs. In a recent Instagram reel published on October 11, 2024, Goggins responded to commenters who accused him of using testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
In a previous post he shared on social media, David Goggins attracted attention for his impressive physique. Some thought he rapidly gained 15-20 pounds of muscle judging by the size of his biceps. However, the ultramarathon runner made it clear that it goes against his life’s mission of testing his natural limits.
Fans expressed mixed feelings about the matter. Some praised his physique while others suggested that he was ‘on the sauce.’ Check out what they had to say below:

David Goggins Claps Back At Fans Who Suggest He Used TRT, Weighs Himself to Prove He Hasn’t Added Size
Through protein consumption, proper dieting, cardio, and heavy lifting, Goggins says he figured out how to make his body look bigger.
“After my post yesterday, I got a bunch of comments about what am I taking? Am I on TRT? Comments saying it looks like I gained 15-20lbs and how fast I bulked up.
I have been in this game of working out longer than a lot of you have been alive. I have figured out how my body can look bigger, how I can redistribute my weight without gaining weight, how much protein it takes for this and that, how many calories it takes to achieve this or that, how much cardio for this or that, or heavy lifting for this or that, etc.”
Although he has no problems with anyone using TRT, he says it, and ‘any other sort of drug would dilute what I am trying to do for myself which is always the mind game.’
“This is a science I have learned over many many years between being a powerlifter, dabbling in bodybuilding, endurance sports, etc.
There are a lot of people who are on TRT who are my age and older and I don’t see a damn thing wrong with it.”
“That said, I am still at a point in my life where I am testing my personal limits. Therefore TRT or any other sort of drug would dilute what I am trying to do for myself which is always the mind game.”
Stay hard!” David Goggins said.
To prove his case, David Goggins jumped on the scale and weighed 190.4 pounds.
“I’ve been 185 for about 15 years. Butt naked 185, with clothes on 188-191, 190 around in there. You guys think I gained 15-20 pounds of jacked? Let’s test out your theory,” said Goggins. “There you go. I’ve gained no weight.”
Goggins has become a mythical figure within the fitness community, whose physical might knows no bounds. This has prompted high-profile voices in the community to critique and/or assess his exercise and training regimens. ATHLEAN-X’s Jeff Cavaliere praised Goggins’ fitness methods as well as exercise scientist Dr. Mike Israetel, who admits that his workouts aren’t for everyone due to their intensity.
Weighing in at 190 pounds, David Goggins is adamant he never has or will use TRT. Do you believe the retired Navy SEAL legend? Let us know in the comment section!
