The 2025 World’s Strongest Woman competition took place on November 20-23 in Arlington, Texas. However, it didn’t come without controversy, which regarded the overall winner of the show, Jammie Booker. Strongman and Strongwoman fans found some information suggesting that Booker is actually a transgender athlete who was born a biological male.

Jammie Booker is a pretty new face on the Pro Strongwoman stage, having made three major international performances, all of which came in 2025. However, Booker really got the spotlight at the 2025 World’s Strongest Woman, having won one of the biggest Strongwoman competitions of the year.

Shortly after receiving the title, rumors started circulating around the community, indicating that Jammie Booker was a trans athlete. One Reddit user shared an old YouTube video that seems to originate from Jammie’s channel. In the video, the maker of the video referred to themself as transgender.

However, that doesn’t seem to be the end, as other information started floating around. Specifically, fans allegedly found that Jammie Booker was listed as a transgender adult film actor going under the name ‘Jammie Jay’. Fans also report that the resemblance between the person in the videos and Jammie is uncanny. Moreover, the reports state that the content of the videos shows that the actor is transgender.

Many fans and athletes in the Strongman and Strongwoman community expressed their opinion on the matter of Jammie Booker, which includes the second-place finisher at the 2025 World’s Strongest Woman competition, Andrea Thompson, and her coach, Laurence ‘Big Loz’ Shahlaei. Andrea revealed that this was her last appearance at the 2025 WSW competition but did not delve deeper into the topic. On the other hand, Big Loz shared a post congratulating Andrea on “winning” the competition, thus making his opinion quite clear.

“This win hasn’t come without controversy, but I want to make it very clear that while I support and applaud people for being who they want to be, sport is sport and the women’s classes exist for a reason,” wrote Big Loz on Instagram.

Other prominent figures, such as Kyle Kirvay, Nick Guardione, Jerry Pritchett, Paddy Haynes, Evan Singleton, Trey Mitchell, Donna Moore, Rebecca Roberts, and many others, have shared their support for Andrea Thompson, who had to settle for a silver medal behind Jammie Booker.

The 2023 World’s Strongest Man and 3x winner of the Arnold Strongman Classic, Mitchell Hooper, discussed the topic in more depth, making a 12-minute-long video to share his thoughts. He watched the 2025 World’s Strongest Woman competition in person and was surprised by the size of Jammie Booker.

“I would put her, I would estimate, at about 6-foot 5-inches and 400 pounds… She made me look very small… I was under the impression that it was farm strength…

There was a little bit of s**t-talking from her, I heard over the weekend, towards some of the other competitors…

It does raise a really big concern, because there is an obvious physical advantage, which is impossible not to see when you look at the two standing beside each other,” said Hooper in his YouTube video.

It is unclear what the next steps are going to be, since fans are calling on the Texas legislature, stating that transgender athletes who were biological males at birth are not allowed to compete in women’s divisions. So, it remains to be seen what the organizers of the 2025 World’s Strongest Woman decide to do.
