If you were to say that Arnold Strongman Classic is the ultimate Strongman event, even ahead of WSM contest you would have a solid argument for it. This is the stage where the biggest and strongest competitors come to test their might and prove their worth both male and female.

So it should come to no surprise that the “Arnold’s” is the event chosen by two competitive Strongwomen to break the female deadlift record. The female Strongmen in question are Kristin Rhodes and Andrea Thompson. Kristin Rhodes is an 8X America’s Strongest Woman, 3X World Champion and World’s Strongest Woman 2012 winner. The other record holder is the 4x Britain’s Strongest Woman winner and 2018’s World’s Strongest Woman winner, Andrea Thompson. Needless to say, both ladies have a resume that would justify them pulling a mind-numbing number, such as +600lbs on an elephant bar deadlift.

Firsts of the two strong females to attempt the +600lbs deadlift was 2012 World’s Strongest Woman, Kristin Rhodes who loaded the bar with 616lbs. The weight on the bar gave a bit of a fight but not enough to defeat the American and weight ultimately goes up. Several minutes later, the 4 time Britain’s Strongest Woman goes to the stage with a tough task ahead of her, deadlifting more than 616 lbs.

The bar is loaded with 621 lbs and Andrea Thompson takes a big break and begins to rock the weight towards her. As she begins to lift the record setting weight, the bar starts to tilt sideways a bit to Andrea’s left but the bar is still moving upwards into the air. After some fighting, she gets the weight up to her knees and with some help of hitching Andrea is standing upright with a new world record in her hands.

Besides Andrea Thompson and Kristin Rhodes, +600 lbs deadlift was also attempted by two more Strongwoman competitors.  The first one was the Canadian Strongmwoman Haley Randall who broke 601 pounds off the floor but just wasn’t able to get a good lockout and in the end, it was a no lift. The Canadian tried her luck the second time but was met with the same result.

The second Strongwoman to try her luck with a 600lbs deadlift was Sara Schiff who attempted the lift without the help of the lifting straps!
