JamaRR Royster has spent multiple years competing in the USAPL, but it seems that the time has come for him to transition to the IPF. In turn, he recently appeared at the 2024 SBD Raleigh, which was sanctioned by the IPF associate for the US — Powerlifting America (AMP). JamaRR managed to Unofficially break the U93KG Raw Squat World Record with a lift of 357.5 kilograms (788.2 pounds).
JamaRR Royster opened up his performance with a 337.5-kilogram (744.1-pound) squat, which was identical to the IPF World Record. However, he still had two attempts remaining and was planning to outperform the record by a significant margin. So, for his second attempt, JamaRR squatted 345 kilograms (760.6 pounds).
JamaRR Royster opted to lift 357.5 kilograms (788.2 pounds) on his final squat attempt. He first put on his lifting belt and knee sleeves, and then walked out onto the platform. After preparing both physically and mentally for the lift, he descended with the weight. Getting back up was not an easy task, but JamaRR’s effort was enough to get him to lock out the lift. In turn, he unofficially broke the IPF World Record by 20 kilograms (44 pounds).
