Trying to shower at Planet Fitness, a man was left disturbed after a woman was seen residing inside the men’s locker room. He reported it to staff but they were unwilling to help. To make his case, the man recorded the female who was also taking a video of her boyfriend.
After the incident, men accompanying the woman tried to fight with the gentleman who simply wanted to shower in peace. Although he has filed a police report and intends to press charges, Joey Swoll is now trying to make sense of this troublesome situation.
“This is NOT ok. No man or woman should ever have to feel uncomfortable in the locker room like this.” Swoll shares.
Planet Fitness has been in hot water after a gym goer, Patricia Silva, found herself face-to-face with a man in the women’s locker room. When she reported him to the staff and explained that this made her uncomfortable, the employees chose to do nothing about the man. Instead, Planet Fitness banned Patricia Silva from the gym claiming that her recording individuals went against their policies and that members could use the locker rooms that align with their gender identities.
Patricia Silva shared this information on social media, which sparked outrage in the fitness community, ultimately leading to several people boycotting Planet Fitness altogether. As a result, the gym saw its stocks plummet and they lost a substantial amount of money. History is doomed to repeat itself, as was the case with Swoll’s latest subject.
Joey Swoll Reacts After Woman Records in Men’s Lockerroom, Leaving Man Who Wanted to Shower Furious
The difference between this situation and Patricia Silva’s is that not only did it lead to a physical altercation but it has also caught the attention of Gym Positivity CEO Joey Swoll. In a recent Instagram video, Swoll breaks down exactly what occurred inside the Planet Fitness locker room and calls for the gym to take action.
“This man, Josh, was on a break from work, decided to grab a workout at Planet Fitness and when he was done, he went to take a shower before going back to work. When he walked into the locker room he saw this woman, sitting on a bench in front of his locker, filming those two guys.”
“This made him and everyone in there very uncomfortable. So, he went and told the front desk. And the staff did nothing. So he went back in, pretended to take a video of flexing, so he had some evidence. As he was walking out, some words were exchanged and he got in a shoving match with those two guys.”
Since the situation escalated and became physical, the gentleman involved has filed a police report and intends to press charges against the individuals. However, had Planet Fitness managed the incident better from the beginning, the outcome could have been much less drastic.
“He called the police they came, he made a case, and he is going to press charges. No man or woman should ever have to feel uncomfortable in their locker room changing or showering or whatever they have to do. As soon as he told the front desk, the staff should have kicked those three out immediately.”

As a result of the incident, onlookers took to the comment section to voice their disapproval, including Josh, the man in the video who wanted to shower.
Contentious gym encounters remain a prevalent trend in the fitness and bodybuilding community. Joey Swoll previously discussed a man who got enraged when two women grabbed his butt while he was working out. Everyone around him laughed and made light of the situation however, Joey Swoll related to it on a personal level.
Although Joey Swoll is still recovering after a heart surgery fiasco, he remains optimistic about the future. He hopes to continue shining a light on injustices at the gym moving forward.
