The 2023 Rogue Record Breakers took place at the Dell Diamond Stadium in Round Rock, Texas, as a part of the 2023 Rogue Invitational. It gave the platform to athletes who had a wish to attempt to set new World Records in some of the events. Well, while multiple did make attempts, only two managed to make their goals a reality.
These two were Kevin Faires and Hannah Linzay, as they set new World Records in the Dinnie Stone Replica Hold and Thor’s Hammer events respectively.
Kevin Faires
Kevin Faires is no stranger to setting World Records, especially when they regard some kind of a grip event. This was the case at the 2023 Rogue Record Breakers, so Kevin was quick to apply for the attempt. The event in question was the Dinnie Stone Hold, which used the replicas of the original stones. One stone weighed 188 kilograms (414.5 pounds), while the other came out to 144.5 kilograms (318.5 pounds).
Kevin Faires came out on the stage and picked up both stones with ease, but the real challenge was holding them for as long as possible. Seconds went by slowly for Faires whose hands had to endure the excruciating pain from the metal rings that were attached to the stones. Kevin managed to hold the stones for 41.31 seconds, which was enough for a new World Record.
Mitchell Hooper previously held the Dinnie Stone Replica Hold World Record, having set this at this same competition last year. His record stood at 39.85 seconds, as he could not hold onto the stones for more than that.

Hannah Linzay
The second World Record set at the 2023 Rogue Record Breakers was set by Hannah Linzay. She set her record in the Thor‘s Hammer event, where the only goal was to lift the humongous hammer with just one hand. Hannah managed to lift and fully lock out a 175-pound (79.4-kilogram) Thor’s Hammer.
Hannah Linzay approached the Thor’s Hammer and attempted to lift it with her right arm first. However, she was not able to lift it, so she switched over to her left arm. This proved to be the right move, as she locked it out soon after. She did not use any equipment apart from a lifting belt, knee sleeves, and some chalk.

Kevin Faires and Hannah Linzay both walked away satisfied from the 2023 Rogue Record Breakers, as their World Records were also rewarded with a money prize. However, they have also marked their place in history, which can arguably mean even more to them.
