If Kheycie Romero has proven anything in recent months, it is that she is one of the brightest young prospects in powerlifting today. However, if you were not convinced, she recently did a huge squat, which may just win you over.
Romero is continuing to prove herself as one of the most intriguing up-and-comers in the sport. The amount of strength she shows, with her deadlifts in particular, is indicative of a veteran powerlifter, not someone who is entering just her third year of competition. Nevertheless, she is constantly improving, and showing what appears to be an enormous amount of potential.
In fact, this potential was put on full display with a recent Instagram post from Romero. The post puts her squat skills to the test, as she crushes a variety of huge squats, with chains. Most notably, Kheycie smashes a massive 440lb squat, with 180lb in chains attached to the weights. It was not an easy lift, but she did it smoothly and made it look simple.

In addition to the 620lb that she squatted in the first video, Romero also did the same amount of plates, with 150lb in chains. Furthermore, she destroyed a double using 120lb chains, for 560lb in total. It was quite the solid set of squats, but without a doubt, that 620lb one was the most incredible.
Romero is fresh off an amazing performance at the Hybrid Showdown II, earlier this month. Although she went 6/9 on her lifts, she did manage to set three new competition PRs along the way. Included among those, was a 485lb squat, which she blew out of the water with this performance here.

It would truly appear that Kheycie Romero is primed to have an epic year in 2020. She already got off to a strong start, winning the aforementioned first contest of the year. Nonetheless, it will be fun to watch as she quickly improves in between contests.
