Just a couple of months ago, Mitchell Hooper announced that he would be withdrawing from all remaining competitions for 2025. He planned to have an off-season, hoping that it would help his body recover and get him back into the best shape possible. However, he has now decided to change his plans, as he will be competing at the 2025 Rogue Invitational on October 31 – November 02 in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Mitchell Hooper has had an incredible streak of results at the Rogue Invitational, having made an impressive debut in 2022, where he secured an impressive podium finish. He returned in 2023 and took the title following a spectacular performance. Then, in 2024, Hooper came back and beat everyone once again with a 10-point margin. So, he is now determined to claim his third win in a row.

Mitchell Hooper’s Announcement

Mitchell Hooper had planned to take part in several competitions this season, but a string of underwhelming performances made it clear that something wasn’t right. The turning point came when he discovered that recovery was the missing piece, as he was diagnosed with a series of functional issues that needed attention.

“The Rogue Invitational is coming up, and I’m having to make hard decisions with my body and recovery. I ran into issues where my back had four herniated discs, my knee couldn’t extend, and I couldn’t flex my knee more than 90 degrees.

I went down to Panama to the regeneration clinic to get stem cells to see if we could accelerate recovery. The challenge is I got stem cells 13 weeks out from the Rogue Invitational, and you are supposed to take 12 weeks to get back to full function, never mind get back to your best.”

In order to get a remedy, Mitchell Hooper traveled all the way to Panama. There he got stem cell injections, with the goal of speeding up his recovery process. He revealed that it seemingly worked, as his strength is at a decent level. However, he still needs to work on his endurance and overall fitness.

“Super excited to be back into training and I’m going to work relatively hard today, which is such a relief. In Panama, I was put under and I got stem cell injections into L2/3/4/5 discs. And then I got it in facet joints on either side.

I’m feeling really, really good. Things are moving much quicker than expected…

My strength is pretty good, but my repeated strength over the course of the last six months has dropped. So, I want to get back to the point where I am one of the fitter ones out there.”

With everything taken into consideration, Mitchell Hooper came to the conclusion that he has enough time to prepare for the 2025 Rogue Invitational. So, he will be competing at the show and looking to defend his title once again. His decision was based on a number of elements, such as the rate of his recovery, the events, and his desire to get back to the competition floor.

“The thing about going into a contest is, I don’t want to go if I don’t feel like I’m capable of winning. And with all of the recovery I’ve had to do, it has cast a lot of doubt on that. But, just in the past week, with the things that have come around, the way that I am feeling, and the way I’m able to train pain-free right now.

We have the events and I have been able to hit competition weight or better in almost every event as a starting spot. I’m ready!

I’m ready to come back, I’m ready to win, and I’m ready to three-peat at the Rogue Invitational,” said Hooper in a YouTube video.

Apart from being in possession of two Rogue Invitational titles, Mitchell Hooper has also won the 2023 World’s Strongest Man, 3x Arnold Strongman Classics, the 2024 Strongest Man On Earth, and multiple other major competitions. He also holds a couple of world records, with the most notable one being the Axle Press. So, when completely healthy, Mitchell is capable of beating anyone, which he hopes to achieve at the 2025 Rogue Invitational as well.
