Both Hinrik Ingi Óskarsson and Elly Kabboord have been suspended from CrossFit competition for four years following positive drug test results at the Reykjavík CrossFit Championship. This was announced by CrossFit in a press release.
Óskarsson tested positive for Ostarine and Rad-140 at the event and it was unfortunate seeing as he was the runner-up. But it’s not the first time he’ll be suspended seeing as in 2016, he refused to submit a drug test at the Nike Iceland Throwdown.
He could not compete at the event for two years after placing 1st at the event.

Now, Elly Kabboord, the team captain of CrossFit Mayhem Independence, also failed a drug test at the same event. She tested positive for Clenbuterol and denied taking it, but her appeal was rejected. So now, CrossFit Mayhem Independence will replace Kabboord with Carolyn Prevost for the French Throwdown this weekend.
Both athletes are not eligible to compete again until May 4, 2023, and it’s too bad for Óskarsson as he qualified for the CrossFit Games in August.
