Rudy Kadlub, a 73-year-old powerlifter and the CEO/Co-owner of Kabuki Strength, recently achieved a new personal record in the deadlift. Rudy set a 210-kilogram (463-pound) two-rep completely raw deadlift PR. Deadlifts are often performed with a lifting belt, which helps to stabilize the lower back and prevent injuries. However, Rudy decided to perform his deadlift without any equipment, including a lifting belt.

Rudy Kadlub shared a video of his deadlift on Instagram, along with a caption describing his experience. He stated that he was traveling somewhere and decided to try a beltless PR. He focused on a strong brace and was able to successfully complete two reps at 210 kilograms (463 pounds). Rudy felt like he could have done more, but was ultimately satisfied with the two reps.

Having accumulated years of experience in powerlifting, Rudy Kadlub has contributed to Kabuki in improving their barbells. So, he has full trust in them and used one during his two-rep PR.

“Might have been able to do more but took two and the win.”

Despite being in amazing physical shape currently, Rudy Kadlub won’t take part in another competition until summer comes. His most recent competition was in December, and ever since then, Rudy has been in his ‘Hypertrophy Block’, slowly improving his abilities. Rudy has also revealed that he is hungry for some more World Records.

Rudy Kadlub’s professional powerlifting career began in 2006, and since then, he has competed in 39 sanctioned events. His record as a competitor is exceptional, as he has won the majority of these competitions, only failing to grab gold in six of his appearances. In addition, Rudy has set numerous World Records throughout his career, especially in recent years. Seeing that he has competed in both the 100-kilogram and 110-kilogram weight classes, Rudy holds multiple World Class in both.
