Sara Sigmundsdottir went into the Dubai CrossFit Championships looking to make a statement. She did just that, with a solid 112kg clean and jerk in the event.
Sigmundsdottir took to the Dubai CrossFit Championships knowing it is one of the biggest events in the Sanctional season. Therefore, she was looking to make a good impression. Moreover, with a spot at the 2020 CrossFit Games up for grabs, there was a ton of pressure headed into the event.
However, it seems that Sigmundsdottir was not feeling any of that pressure when the fourth event came along. This event was a one rep max for the clean and jerk. Sara was very focused, and it showed as she got an impressive 112kg lift. Since then, a video was uploaded to Instagram by the Dubai CrossFit Championships.

Clearly Sigmundsdottir is ecstatic, to say the least. This is understandable, considering the fact that this was her matching her personal record for the lift. As a result, you can see how proud she is, written clearly across her face. She has every right to be proud, as this was a strong move.
As it currently stands, Sara Sigmundsdottir is in the lead by a decent margin. Although it is worth noting that she is not the only one who got a 112kg clean and jerk. Callerina Natori also managed to hit the same lift during the event.
The difference with Sigmundsdottir comes in fact that she has no need to even compete at the Dubai CrossFit Championships. She already finished first in the CrossFit Open, securing her spot in the Games. Nevertheless, her love for competion, and staying busy, led her to give the Sanctionals a try, too.
With the Dubai CrossFit Championships concluding tomorrow, there is still a chance for someone to surpass her score. However it seems likely that she will walk away from this event with another win.
