Powerlifter Sonita Muluh Smokes 301-kg (663.6-lb) Raw Squat Unofficial All-Time World Record in Training

Fantastic news comes from powerlifter Sonita Muluh, who shared a humongous 301-kilogram (663.6-pound) raw squat on her Instagram page. She performed the lift in training and Unofficially broke the +84KG All-Time World Record and lifted more than any woman has across all weight classes. Moreover, Sonita is now unofficially the first woman to reach the 300-kilogram (661.4-pound) squat milestone by wearing just a lifting belt and knee sleeves.

Despite performing such a heavy squat, Sonita Muluh looked as stable as ever, with a huge 301 kilograms (663.6 pounds) on her back. Although this was uncharted territory for her, Sonita understood how big of a challenge she faced. Managing to maintain the same pace throughout the entire squat, Sonita soon finished her lift and secured an impressive powerlifting achievement. She was also surrounded by four spotters, all of whom gave her applause.

Sonita Muluh holds the official All-Time Squat World Record as well, which she set at the 2023 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships. However, it stands at 285.5 kilograms (629.4 pounds) and Sonita is now capable of lifting significantly more weight. Furthermore, she is a lifter in the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF), which is a drug-tested federation, but is capable of squatting more weight than athletes that are taking PEDs.

As per the caption of her Instagram post, Sonita Muluh has managed to improve her squat training PR by 11 kilograms (24.3 pounds) in just two weeks. So, with the 2024 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships set to take place on February 10th, Sonita has plenty of time to chase more progress. If she can replicate her 301-kilogram (663.6-pound) raw squat in competition, it will easily be one of the most epic moments in the history of powerlifting.

Sonita Muluh is heading into 2024 as a two-time EPF European Champion (2022 & 2023) and the 2023 IPF World Vice-Champion. She has a total of 14 sanctioned powerlifting appearances to her name, out of which she managed to get ten gold medals.

It seems that no powerlifter can have as great of a start to the year as Sonita Muluh has had, since she has unofficially achieved a lift that was considered impossible for a long time. So, judging by her recent squat, Sonita will surely be a great addition to the roster of athletes at the 2024 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships. The competition is also set to feature the biggest prize purse in the history of powerlifting (£445,000 / ~$569,057), which is undoubtedly an incentive to perform even better.
