Dr. Stefanie Cohen is one of the best female powerlifters in existence. Now she is back to training after taking time off, and looks to be almost fully back to form.
Cohen is a lady of many talents. A personal trainer with a PhD, as well as a former soccer player, she has done it all. However, she has mostly garnered attention in the world of powerlifting, where she has managed to attain multiple accolades. She holds world records for her deadlift, squat, and total lift. Overall, she is a well-rounded and complete athlete.
Unfortunately, Cohen recently took a bit of a break to close out her 2019. Although she was doing well early on in the year, winning the Pro Raw XI, and coming in second at the Kern US Open, the last half of the year would not be so good. She would decide to step away from competition for the remainder of the year, taking some time to rest and recuperate.
Nevertheless, Stefanie Cohen has gotten back to action, and looks better than ever. In a recent Instagram post, she shows off the fact that she is back to regular training with an impressive squat set. Here, she takes on 407lb, squatting it for three reps, while making it seem like a breeze.

“185kg/407lbs x 3
.
Heaviest squat I’ve done in the last 6 months feeling buttery. The heaviest I’ve gone was 160kg for a few sets of 3 a month or so ago. It’s amazing how much strength you can preserve if you prioritize movement modification.”
As she explains in the post, Cohen has not lifted nearly this heavy in six months. Moreover, you can clearly hear the thought process of someone with a doctorate in Physical Therapy, and a Bachelors’s in Sports Medicine as she describes her process. Taking an analytical approach in prioritizing her movement has resulted in a clinical lift. It looks like she never stopped lifting this heavy.
Stefanie Cohen is seriously one of the most incredible athletes in the world today. Her diversity and well-rounded ability makes it fascinating to watch, every time she updates us on her training.
