And just like that 200 people are out of a job!
This weekend, supplement giant, Ultimate Nutrition, closed its doors for good. I’ve been watching them lately and had been remarking on the impossibility of the low prices they’ve been charging.I always say, you can’t discount your way into prosperity in an industry with such tight margins.
People always doubt me when I talk about how tight the margins are in this biz and Ultimate, paying the ultimate price, is proof. This is an adapt and innovate industry. Changing with the times does not mean lowering your prices into bankruptcy. The key to success in the supplement biz is innovation, not discount.
I’m sorry to see so many families left to struggle now, but Ultimate will not be the last.”
The employees will receive a packet with further information but this is a devastating occurrence for the company and its employees.
