Just one more sleep separates us from the start of the 2023 CrossFit Open, as February 16th will see the reveal of the first workout, CrossFit Open 23.1 Workout, in Madrid, Spain. As soon as the workout is announced, two duels will be held, showcasing how challenging it is. However, seeing that only a small number of people will get the chance to watch the ceremony and duels in person, many wondered if there was a way to watch it from home. Luckily, a live broadcast has been secured for each of the three 2023 CrossFit Open Workout presenting ceremonies.

The 2023 CrossFit Open serves as the first stage of qualifying for the 2023 CrossFit Games, as the greatest performers will advance to the quarterfinals. So, the 2023 CrossFit Open workouts will be live-streamed on the official CrossFit Games YouTube channel, the CrossFit Games website, as well as the CrossFit Games app. The starting time will be 3 p.m. ET, which corresponds to other time zones like this: 21:00 CET — 8 p.m. GMT — 7 a.m. AEDT — Noon PT.

Apart from the standard broadcast which will be in English, CrossFit has prepared live streams in three more languages for the 23.1 Workout as well. The other languages are Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

2023 CrossFit Open Dates

  • Workout 23.1 — Presenting ceremony on February 16th, 2023 — Submissions Due on February 20th, 2023
  • Workout 23.2 — Presenting ceremony on February 23rd, 2023 — Submissions Due on February 27th, 2023

The athletes who will get the honor of demonstrating the 2023 CrossFit Open 23.1 Workout will be Laura Horvath and Gabriela Migala in the women’s duel, while the men’s duel will see Lazar Đukić and Björgvin Karl Gudmundsson face each other.

While the 23.1 Open Workout will be the first of three, as 23.2 and 23.3 will be presented each following week, the duel participants for the other two workouts are yet to be revealed. However, the presentation of each workout should be based on the same principle.

The way that the 2023 CrossFit Open Workouts are set up means that no one has the upper hand over the other athletes. In view of the limited time available to complete and submit the test, only those athletes who possess the greatest all-around fitness will be selected for testing. Ultimately, they will all be aiming for a spot at the 2023 CrossFit Games, which will take place on August 01-06, in Madison, Wisconsin. However, to get to that, they will have to go through the CrossFit Open, Quarterfinals, and Semifinals.
