For eight years, Ronnie Coleman dominated bodybuilding. We all know he is the 8x Olympia champion and possibly greatest of all time bodybuilder. We have all seen him on stage, his freakish size and unimaginable strength.

Ronnie was known for going extremely heavy and he could even compete in powerlifting if he wanted to, he was very strong. In case you didn’t know Big Ronnie comes from a powerlifting background.

Watch the above video of Ronnie doing some good old fashioned hardcore training. Train hard, YEAH BUDDY!

So could it be that they’re taking more drugs?? Just asking

Jordi Harapana

Maybe cuz nobody wants to get lot of surgery as Ronnie, so they use more tempo instead of put more weight

Craig Watler

You don’t have to train that heavy and u can still have issues. Everyone knows that that stuff makes you stronger. the muscles can handle it but the joints take the beating. powerlifters go through the same thing not just Ronnie Coleman.

Craig Watler Dallas McCarver trained like Ronnie, he was such an strong beast, it all comes to their roots, ronnie was a powerlifter, dallas always trained super heavy

Thank god for his genetics bc those corner rows have got to be the fugliest reps I’ve ever seen anyone do. I wonder how much better his back development would have been had he done those with better form?

Reminds me of the video of some dude doing shrugs with 8 plates on each side that went viral. Hideous form.

He was the man though.

Nathan Melton

He had the best back in the business what u on about ?

Craig Watler

I think he’s volunteering to show what he did and how his back looks. People say the same thing about Fletcher ISYMFS

What people don’t understand is that the heavier you go, you have to a sacrifice a little form. Ronnie is still pulling the weight with his back, and he’s controlling it. Ronnie Coleman’s back development proves it. I don’t think his back could of gotten any much better. Jay Cutler said the T-Bar Row is a power exercise, so it’s ok to cheat a little bit. It pisses me off when people bash Ronnie Coleman’s form. He was 8x Mr.Olympia and had the best back of all time. His style of training worked for him. It’s easy for people to talk shit.… Read more »

Nathan Melton best back? you mean Dorian Yates right? lol.
and you can argue about intensity vs technique all day, perhaps if he did everything with perfect technique his back would have been even BETTER.. but perhaps if he trained with less intensity and more technique he wouldnt have enjoyed it as much and never achieved what he did… we’ll never know

He didnt lift heavy. He only lifted heavy for the camera. He lifted light and repetitious. Then again, whats light for him might be heavy as fuck for me lol

Lost all respect for him after that bullshit interview on TMZ about dallas McCarver!

Bryce Christopher Johnston

He was exactly right though, in his simplistic Ronnie way. He basically said that Dallas started heavy gear too much too soon. And got too big too fast. Whereas Ronnie never weighed 300+ until well into his career. It’s just not medically advised to gain that much weight that fast.

Leon Van Woerkom

Last thing I saw he was in a wheelchair. Not worth it.

But seriously… Nothing but mad respect for the RONSTER Ronnie Coleman
At this age lifting line this??? F****** INCREDIBLE and a inspiration to ALL who appreciate the sport!
And still a great and cool dude as he’s always been.
Another thing I gotta point out… Working out in that environment, at that intensity, without all the cushy a/c and TVs, is a whole other level! #realtalk
