The 2022 CrossFit Semifinals are halfway done, as week two of four just concluded. This week we had the chance to watch two competitions. One of those was the 2022 CrossFit Fittest In Cape Town, which acted as a qualifier for the African Continent. Out of all ten competitions, the 2022 CrossFit Fittest In Cape Town is the only one where just a first-place finish in each division secures a place in the 2022 CrossFit Games.

The 2022 CrossFit Fittest In Cape Town saw 30 of the best male and female, as well as 20 teams, gather to battle for that one qualifying place. They competed for three days over the weekend of May 27-29. After some interesting performances, it was Michelle Merand, Kealan Henry, and CrossFit Commit Okavango who won their respective male, female, and team divisions.

Athletes who placed second through to fourth place have earned an invitation to compete in the Last-Chance Qualifier. The Last-Chance Qualifier will take place from June 29 to July 01, and the two greatest athletes from each division will also qualify for the 2022 CrossFit Games
