The IFBB Pro League was back in Milan, Italy, this weekend, October 8 at the 2023 Italian Olympus Pro, where competitors from the Men’s Open, Men’s Physique, and Bikini divisions gave it their all for a final chance to punch their ticket to the nearing Olympia contest.
Unlike last year’s season, there is no point system, and the only way athletes can grace the Olympia stage is through winning a Pro show. The 2023 Mr. Olympia competition is happening in less than four weeks in Orlando, Florida.
With few Men’s Open contests left on the schedule, this show was even more important considering the stakes involved. In the end, Open’s Theo Leguerrier earned first place following a challenging battle in the finals and will have the chance to step on the sport’s biggest stage. Emile Walker claimed gold in Men’s Physique, and Roxana Marquez closed out the show with Bikini gold.

2023 Italian Olympus Pro Results Breakdown
Men’s Open Bodybuilding
Talent delivered in the final Men’s Open Olympia qualifier on European soil. It didn’t take long for Theo Leguerrier to assert his name into title contention, especially in light of his recent success on stage. With a combination of conditioning and muscle fullness, Leguerrier was riding high this weekend having earned gold at the highly competitive 2023 Europa Pro Championships.
Although there were plenty of threats on stage, it appeared judges were also impressed with the separation, lines, and detail of Roman Fritz, who has also led an incredibly active season. In his last outing earlier this month, Fritz picked up the fourth-place position at the 2023 Sheru Classic France Pro, won by Nathan De Asha. In the end, Theo Leguerrier secured another Pro title! Roman Fritz finished in second place and Tim Budesheim took third.

Men’s Physique
With gold, a cash prize, and a qualification for the nearing Olympia contest on the line, Men’s Physique talent brought their best. During the prejudging rounds, Alessandro Cavagnola shined early with great balance and upper body fullness. His back shots were also impressive, making it a challenging night for the judges. Alessandro Cavagnola last graced a stage at the 2023 Sheru Classic France Pro last week, where he finished in second place.
Opposite of Cavagnola was Emile Walker, whose stage presence and shoulder definition made for a brilliant posing routine. Walker was also at the Sheru Classic Fance Pro in his last outing, though took first place against Cavagnola. Ultimately, the results in Milan, Italy were the same as in France as Emile Walker emerged victorious! Alessandro Cavagnola and Abisai Pietersz finished second and third.

Bikini
Competitors in the Bikini category refused to take a step backward on stage as this was one of the last opportunities of the year to ensure their presence on the prestigious Olympia stage. The crowd popped for Roxana Marquez during the prejudging and finals, as her individual routine and package appeared to be a career-best. She last competed in September at the 2023 San Antonio Pro, where she turned in a fifth-place showing.
In Marquez’s way was Alice Marchisio. Marchisio has worked tirelessly in the off-season to improve her look incrementally year by year. Her balance and aesthetics always make her a threat on stage. In her last appearance, Marchisio impressed in third place at the 2023 Sheru Classic France Pro. Following a closely contested event, Roxana Marquez took home gold. Alice Marchisio finished second and Chantal Hill rounded out the podium in third.
