This year’s CrossFit season has been spectacular, so the majority of fans are already eagerly waiting for the next one to start. Well, on November 8th, the new 2024 CrossFit Games Season was officially announced with a plethora of information for fans and athletes. Most notably, CrossFit revealed the full schedule for the 2024 Season, as well as formatting of each qualifying stage.

The 2024 CrossFit Games Season will feature some changes, but nothing drastic. So, the athletes will first have to sign up for the CrossFit Open, while only the best will progress to the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and ultimately the CrossFit Games.

2024 CrossFit Open (First Stage)

To open up the 2024 CrossFit Games Season, everyone will have the chance to take part in the CrossFit Open. Registration for the CrossFit Open will begin on January 9th. The Open itself will last for three weeks, officially starting on February 29th and concluding on March 18th.

Those competing in the 2024 CrossFit Open will need to submit video footage of them performing the three workouts. Those with the best results will advance to the Quarterfinals.

  • Workout 24.1: Feb. 29 – March 3, 2024
  • Workout 24.2: March 7 – 11, 2024
  • Workout 24.3: March 14 – 18, 2024

2024 CrossFit Quarterfinals (Second Stage)

The 2024 CrossFit Quarterfinals will be separated into seven separate competitions based on region. So, each of the following regions will have its own competition: Africa, Asia, Europe, North America East, North America West, Oceania, and South America.

“The top 25% of individuals (formerly 10%) and teams in each region will advance to the Quarterfinals with a minimum of 50 athletes from each division.

The top 25% of each age group from every region will advance to the Quarterfinals with a minimum of 200 athletes from each age group,” states CrossFit.

  • Team Quarterfinal: April 3 – 8, 2024
  • Individual Quarterfinal: April 17 – 22, 2024
  • Age-Group Quarterfinal: April 17 – 22, 2024

2024 CrossFit Semifinals (Third Stage)

The 2024 CrossFit Semifinals will also be separated into seven competitions based on region. So, the top 40 Individual Men and Women, as well as top 30 Teams, will advance to the Semifinals of their respective regions.

Unlike the quarterfinals, the 2024 CrossFit Semifinals will feature in-person competitions. So, the athletes will go head-to-head against the biggest rivals in their region.

“Venues, dates, and the number of CrossFit Games qualifying spots by region for the individual and team Semifinal competitions will be announced at a later date.”

The dates and remaining details for Individuals and Teams will be determined as the season progresses. On the other hand, CrossFit has revealed the dates for virtual Age-Group and Adaptive Semifinals.

  • Age-Group Semifinal: May 8 – 13, 2024
  • Adaptive CrossFit Semifinal by WheelWOD: May 8 – 13, 2024

2024 CrossFit Games (Final Stage)

The 2024 CrossFit Games will take place on August 8-11, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. The biggest competition of the entire 2024 Season will see the best performers from the Semifinals get together and battle for the title of Fittest On Earth.

There isn’t much information about workouts for the 2024 CrossFit Games yet. However, CrossFit has revealed on Instagram that the Individual Men’s and Women’s rosters will consist of 40 athletes each. Moreover, the Teams division will see 30 separate groups of four battle against each other.

“Individuals and teams, teenagers, masters, and adaptive athletes will compete at separate, in-person championships.”
