The Strongman season is in full swing, as we have multiple major competitions coming up in the span of just a few months. One of those is the 2024 Giants Live Strongman Open & World Log Lift Challenge, which will take place on September 7th at the Utilita arena in Birmingham, UK. Well, with the show being less than two months away, the organizers have decided to release the lineup of athletes competing.
As indicated by the name, the 2024 Giants Live Strongman Open is combined with the World Log Lift Challenge. This means that the first event of the competition will be the Log Lift for max weight, where athletes will try to lock out as much weight as possible over their heads. Some athletes, however, are likely to go for the World Record, which is currently held by Iron Biby at 230 kilograms (507.1 pounds).

Lineup Overview
Mitchell Hooper is the biggest favorite for the 2024 Giants Live Strongman Open, as he is very consistent throughout nearly all Strongman events. He has previously won the 2023 WSM, 2023 & 2024 Arnold Strongman Classics, and the 2023 Rogue Invitational. Although it is rare to see, Mitchell Hooper is still beatable.

One man who has experienced beating Hooper is Evan ‘T-Rex’ Singleton. The US representative is known for his enthusiasm, which often aids him in performing unbelievable feats of strength. Evan has, however, suffered an injury at the recent 2024 Giants Live Strongman Classic, but will hopefully be back to his best in time for the Strongman Open.
Luke Stoltman will also be contending for the top spot, as he has had a great season overall. Coming off a win at the 2024 Europe’s Strongest Man competition, Luke is ready to continue a streak of good results.
Another man that cannot be written off is the 2020 World’s Strongest Man, Oleksii Novikov. The Ukrainian Strongman has been battling injuries for a long period of time, but the 2024 Giants Live Strongman Open might be his breakthrough competition.
It is also worth pointing out Ondřej Fojtů as the man to keep an eye on, since he is arguably the biggest prospect in the sport at the moment. Born in December of 2001, Ondřej is still only 22-years-old, but he has given some much more experienced athletes a run for their money at the 2024 World’s Strongest Man.
When it comes to the World Log Lift Challenge, there is one man who is considered the heavy favorite by nearly the entire Strongman community. That is none other than Cheick Sanou, also known as Iron Biby. He is the king of overhead presses and aims to retain his status by beating everyone else once again.
