The 2024 Giants Live World Tour Finals took place on October 19th in Glasgow, Scotland. It featured a lineup of 12 athletes and representatives from multiple continents. They all performed five grueling events in order to determine who the strongest among them was. That turned out to be Mitchell Hooper, continuing his impressive win streak.
Mitchell Hooper won four out of the five events at the 2024 Giants Live World Tour Finals. In fact, the only event that he didn’t win was the Castle Stones. The reason for this is because Hooper decided not to perform the final event, seeing that he already secured the title mathematically. So, although the points might indicate that it was a close battle for first place, it was actually the opposite since Hooper crushed his rivals.

Event One — Dumbbell Ladder
The Dumbbell Ladder was the first event of the 2024 Giants Live World Tour Finals, setting a task of overhead pressing a series of progressively heavier dumbbells. The first of the five dumbbells weighed 80 kilograms (176.4 pounds), while the heaviest one came out to 120 kilograms (264.5 pounds). The aim was to finish the event in the shortest time possible.
Mitchell Hooper came out on top in the first event, despite facing some truly talented athletes. He did so by lifting all five dumbbells in just 43.84 seconds, beating the next few athletes by just a few seconds.
The second place went to Roman Grekov, which might have surprised some people. However, the dumbbell press is one of his favorite events and this result definitely proves it. In fact, he was just 1.7 seconds slower than Hooper.
The battle for third place came down to less than half a second. However, Trey Mitchell was the one who came out of the duel slightly more pleased, beating Luke Stoltman and grabbing some valuable points.
- Mitchell Hooper — 5 in 43.84 s
- Roman Grekov — 5 in 45.54 s
- Trey Mitchell — 5 in 51.14 s
- Luke Stoltman — 5 in 51.61 s
- Luke Richardson — 4 in 38.28 s
- Pavlo Kordiyaka — 4 in 39.48 s
- Wesley Derwinsky — 4 in 44.21 s
- Spenser Remick — 4 in 45.16 s
- Kane Francis — 4 in 59.29 s
- Evans Nana Aryee — 3 in 40.98 s
- Chris Beetham — 3 in 48.04 s
- Jaco Schoonwinkel — 2 in 17.18 s
Event Two — Farmer’s Walk into Super Yoke
The second event of the 2024 Giants Live World Tour Finals consisted of two parts. Firstly, the athletes had to carry two 150-kilogram (330.7-pound) Farmer’s Walk implements for a distance of 20 meters. Then they picked up the 450-kilogram (992-pound) Super Yoke and carried it for another 20 meters. Speed was the key, meaning that the fastest man took the max points.
Unsurprisingly, Mitchell Hooper once again placed first. Although he excels in nearly all Strongman events, the ones that require moving are especially dear to him. So, Hooper managed to finish the event in 22.69 seconds and extended his lead.
The second-place went to the representative of Ghana, Evans Nana Aryee. He is often the fastest man in moving events, but this time he had to settle for second with a time of 27.46 seconds.
Interestingly, Luke Stoltman rounded up the top three in this event, having a good showing after the bicep injury that he battled since earlier this year. Luke was just marginally slower than Aryee, finishing in 28.23 seconds.
- Mitchell Hooper — 22.69 seconds
- Evans Nana Aryee — 27.46 seconds
- Luke Stoltman — 28.23 seconds
- Pavlo Kordiyaka — 29.39 seconds
- Luke Richardson — 29.88 seconds
- Spenser Remick — 30.43 seconds
- Wesley Derwinsky — 31.47 seconds
- Kane Francis — 32.77 seconds
- Trey Mitchell — 38.58 seconds
- Roman Grekov — 58.13 seconds
- Chris Beetham — 29.5 meters
- Jaco Schoonwinkel — Withdrew
Event Three — Axle Deadlift
Moving onto the third event, it was time for the athletes to show off their deadlift power. However, they performed on an Axle Bar, which definitely added another layer to the complexity of the lift. The weight came out to 360 kilograms (793.7 pounds), while the challenge was to perform as many reps as possible.
Going three for three, Mitchell Hooper once again topped the leaderboards. He was the last man to perform the event and knew exactly how many reps he needed to get in order to win. The magic number of reps turned out to be six, which is exactly how many he locked out. It is important to note that he looked capable of doing a few more reps but seemingly stopped at six to preserve his energy.
Multiple men found their limit to be five repetitions, including Aryee, Richardson, Derwinsky, and Trey Mitchell. So, they all had to share second place in the deadlift event.
- Mitchell Hooper — 6 reps
- Evans Nana Aryee — 5 reps
- Luke Richardson — 5 reps
- Wesley Derwinsky — 5 reps
- Trey Mitchell — 5 reps
- Spenser Remick — 4 reps
- Kane Francis — 4 reps
- Luke Stoltman — 3 reps
- Pavlo Kordiyaka — 3 reps
- Roman Grekov — 2 reps
- Chris Beetham — 1 rep
Event Four — Hercules Hold
The second-to-last event of the 2024 Giants Live World Tour Finals was the Hercules Hold. It was mainly a test of grip strength, as athletes had to hold two leaning pillars, which came out to 250 kilograms (551.2 pounds) per hand. The goal was to hold the implements for as long as possible.
Mitchell Hooper continued putting up one of the most dominant displays ever seen in the history of Strongman, winning the fourth event of the competition. No matter what task he faced, Hooper was able to beat everyone else, and that included the Hercules Hold. His final time came out to 1 minute and 12 seconds. Interestingly, at this point of the competition, it was mathematically impossible for anyone to beat Hooper overall, meaning that he won the title with one event still left.
Trey Mitchell was awarded the second place, dropping the pillars just three seconds before Hooper. The only other man, apart from Trey and Hooper, to hold the implements for longer than a minute was Luke Richardson. So, he rounded up the top three.
- Mitchell Hooper — 72.48 seconds
- Trey Mitchell — 69.79 seconds
- Luke Richardson — 65.34 seconds
- Wesley Derwinsky — 58.66 seconds
- Spenser Remick — 53.92 seconds
- Evans Nana Aryee — 53.74 seconds
- Kane Francis — 49.59 seconds
- Chris Beetham — 49.12 seconds
- Pavlo Kordiyaka — 46.14 seconds
- Luke Stoltman — 44.25 seconds
- Roman Grekov — 31.58 seconds
Event Five — Castle Stones
Lastly, the competitors at the 2024 Giants Live World Tour Finals took on the Castle Stones. In turn, they had to pick up and load five implements ranging in weight from 120 kilograms (264.5 pounds) to 200 kilograms (440.9 pounds). In the case that multiple athletes managed to lift the same number of stones, the time needed to do so was used as a tiebreaker.
Having already secured the title after the first four events, Mitchell Hooper opted not to perform the Castle Stones, as it would have only carried the risk of injury.
On the other hand, all of the other competitors gave their all to secure as many points as possible. Ultimately, Luke Stoltman finished the event with the fastest time of 24.94 seconds, which gave him the event win.
Kane Francis had the second fastest time of 26.38 seconds, which was just enough for him to place second. Trey Mitchell finished just 0.31 seconds after Kane, finishing in third place and wrapping up an incredible performance.
- Luke Stoltman — 5 in 24.94 s
- Kane Francis — 5 in 26.38 s
- Trey Mitchell — 5 in 26.69 s
- Luke Richardson — 5 in 28.81 s
- Spenser Remick — 5 in 29.59 s
- Roman Grekov — 5 in 32.09 s
- Evans Nana Aryee — 4 in 23.43 s
- Wesley Derwinsky — 4 in 28.78 s
- Pavlo Kordiyaka — 4 in 30.59 s
- Chris Beetham — 4 in 50.73 s
- Mitchell Hooper — No Lift
