The 2025 Siberian Power Show Strongman competition took place on April 19-20 in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, gathering 12 incredible strength athletes. It pitted them against each other across six events, with the aim of determining who the strongest is. Mateusz Kieliszkowski was the one who emerged victorious after a tense battle.
Mateusz Kieliszkowski had a very rough start to the competition, as he placed sixth in the opening event. However, he made up for it in the remainder of the competition, winning three events and placing second in the remaining two. In doing so, Mateusz managed to beat the likes of Hafthor Bjornsson to take the title.

Event Overview
Event One — Max Deadlift
The opening event of the 2025 Siberian Power Show was the max deadlift. So, the athletes had a simple task: lifting as much weight as possible in one of Strongman’s staple exercises.

It was no surprise that Hafthor Bjornsson came out on top with ease, as he ended up with a smooth 425-kilogram (937-pound) deadlift to take the max points. Hafthor was also the only man to break through the 400-kilogram (881.8-pound) milestone.
Four men tied for second place, as Osborne, Soukup, Johansson, and Shivlyakov all ended up with a 390-kilogram (859.8-pound) deadlift. This meant that Hafthor built up a substantial lead over everyone, as the ones closest to him had to share points.

Event Two — Dumbbell Press Medley
The second event of the competition moved the focus to upper body strength, as athletes had to overhead press four dumbbells in the shortest time possible. The weight of the dumbbells was as follows: 110-kg (242.5-lb), 115-kg (253.5-lb), 120-kg (264.6-lb), and 130-kg (286.6-lb). However, the time limit was set to 90 seconds.
David Shamey emerged as the winner of the event, which came as a pleasant surprise, considering the caliber of athletes he managed to beat. He was the only man that managed to finish the entire event, while others struggled to get the final implement above their head.
Mateusz Kieliszkowski finished in second place, being the fastest man to lock out three dumbbells. He achieved the feat in 39 seconds, beating the third-place finisher, Seth Soukup, by nine seconds.

Event Three — Sandbag Toss
Moving on to the third event of the 2025 Siberian Power Show, the competitors faced the Sandbag Toss. Combining explosive power with precision and technique, this event proved to be quite a challenge. It consisted of six sandbags, with the weight ranging from 20-kg (44-lb) to 30-kg (66.1-lb).
It was a two-man race for the win in the third event of the competition, as Mateusz Kieliszkowski and Hafthor Bjornsson both put in exceptional performances. Mateusz was slightly quicker, finishing with a time of 16.51 seconds and taking the win.
Hafthor Bjornsson did not have anyone else to worry about, as he was the only other man to finish the entire event. He thus placed second, followed by Fredrik Johansson, who tossed five sandbags quicker than anyone else.

Event Four — Axle Clean & Press
The fourth event was another test of upper body strength, with the task being to perform as many reps as possible on an Axle Clean & Press. The weight of the bar was set to 160 kilograms (352.7 pounds) for all athletes, making it an even playing field. The time limit was set to 90 seconds.
Mateusz Kieliszkowski topped the leaderboards for the second time in the competition, taking the win with a total of five repetitions. This proved to be the turning point in his battle for the title against Hafthor Bjornsson, as she finally managed to make up for the points that he lost in the first event.
While he did finish behind Mateusz, Hafthor Bjornsson still showed off impressive upper body strength, which excited many fans considering that he has been recovering from his pec tear. He did, however, have to share the points with David Shamey, as both men finished with four points.

Event Five — Medley
The penultimate event of the 2025 Siberian Power Show was a very complex medley. The athletes first had to lift a 110-kg (242.5-lb) Stone, after which they carried a 400-kg (881.8-lb) Yoke for 15 meters. Once that was done, they advanced to a single rep with a 115-kg (253.5-lb) Log, and wrapped up with a 15-meter carry of a 160-kg (352.7-lb) Cross. The goal was to finish the entire event in the shortest time possible.
Mateusz Kieliszkowski claimed his third event win of the competition and made a huge leap toward the overall title. The majority of men finished the medley, but no one was even close to Mateusz’s time of 40.66 seconds.
Hafthor Bjornsson found himself behind Mateusz once again, taking second place with a time five seconds slower. David Shamey broke through into the top three as well, finishing another three seconds after Hafthor.

Event Six — Natural Stone to Shoulder
Lastly, the 2025 Siberian Power Show concluded with the Natural Stone to Shoulder event. As the name suggests, the athletes faced a 165-kilogram (363.8-pound) Stone, which they had to lift up to their shoulder for as many repetitions as possible.
David Shamey wrapped up his incredible performance with an event win, showing just how much potential he has in Strongman. He lifted the stone four times, thus beating the next best man, who turned out to be Mateusz Kieliszkowski. Mateusz completed three repetitions and thus officially won the 2025 Siberian Power Show.

He recently decided to withdraw from the Arnold Strongman Classic in order to fully recover from his injuries.
