The 2025 World’s Strongest Man competition is set to be the biggest Strongman competition of the upcoming season, boasting the most coveted title that the sport has to offer. For this reason, many fans and athletes were eager to find out where and when it would happen. Well, the 2025 World’s Strongest Man will return to Sacramento, California, on May 15-18.
Sacramento is not an unfamiliar location for fans of the World’s Strongest Man competition, since it was where the 2021 and 2022 editions of the show took place. So, after two years of it taking place in Myrtle Beach, the executives of the competition decided to return to California once again.
Sacramento is known to have a pleasantly warm temperature during May, as opposed to July, when it often experiences extreme heat. So, it is perfect for athletes to show off their skills without pushing their bodies to heat exhaustion. Moreover, the previous times it hosted the WSM competition, the fan support turned out to be absolutely amazing.

The dates released show that the 2025 World’s Strongest Man competition will take place over the course of four days. This is different from the format that was seen in 2024, where athletes went through the qualifying for two days, had one day of rest, and then encountered the two days of finals.
The past competitions that took place in Sacramento, California, are fondly remembered by Tom Stoltman. ‘The Albatross’ won both of the 2021 and 2022 World’s Strongest Man shows, meaning that he holds a 100% winning streak in this location.
However, for the past two years, Tom Stoltman has faced a tremendous amount of pressure from Mitchell Hooper. In 2023, Hooper was the one who took the title, but Stoltman managed to reclaim it in 2024. So, a tough battle is expected to take place in 2025 as well.

However, revealing dates and the location this far out from the competition allows both the athletes and fans to plan their trip to Sacramento in an efficient and timely manner.

The World’s Strongest Man competition featured its inaugural edition back in 1977 and thus stands as one of the longest running Strongman shows. It has taken place in multiple locations around the globe over the years, but in the recent period, it has mostly been stationed in the USA. This will be the case once again in 2025, as the WSM looks to return to Sacramento, California. Based on previous years, it is safe to assume that the competition will be a huge success, giving the athletes a professional stage to compete in and fans a truly spectacular environment to enjoy.
