Event One — Dumbbell Medley
The 2026 Britain’s Strongest Woman competition kicked off with the Dumbbell Medley. It was a press ladder, pushing overhead strength and stability to the limit within a 60-second window. Athletes had to clean and press progressively heavier single-arm giant dumbbells, completing two reps each at 40-kg (88.2-lb), 50-kg (110.2-lb), and 60-kg (132.3-lb) before repping out on the final 70-kg (154.3-lb) dumbbell.
Rebecca Roberts was the only one who successfully lifted all dumbbells, achieving a total of seven repetitions to win the event. This marked a perfect start to the competition for her, giving her an early lead and an opportunity to strategize.
Lucy Underdown cruised through the first two implements but was unable to complete the second rep with the 60-kilogram (132.3-pound) dumbbell. So, her score came out to five reps, which was enough for a second-place finish. Donna Moore rounded out the top three, being the quickest out of multiple athletes who achieved four reps.
- Rebecca Roberts — 7 in 58.46 s
- Lucy Underdown — 5 in 49.84 s
- Donna Moore — 4 in 26.01 s
- Grace Hilbourne — 4 in 29.98 s
- Claire Myler — 4 in 32.05 s
- Michaela Pearson — 4 in 63.49 s
- Rachel Greener — 3 in 22.85 s
- Naomi Hadley — 3 in 24.50 s
- Nicola Bennett — 2 in 16.26 s
- Sam Taylor — 2 in 23.15 s
Event Two — Farmer’s Walk
Testing grip endurance and moving speed, athletes had 60 seconds to carry two 100-kilogram (220.5-pound) anvil implements across a 30-meter course in the second event of the competition. Speed was key to securing top points, while total distance was measured for anyone unable to complete the full stretch before time expired.
Rebecca Roberts managed to string together two consecutive event wins thanks to her unbelievable performance in the Farmer’s Walk. Only four athletes were able to complete the entire event, but Rebecca was by far the quickest one. She needed just 17 seconds to reach the end, beating the runner-up by seven seconds.
Lucy Underdown found herself just behind Rebecca Roberts once again. She completed the event in 24.38 seconds and thus beat Naomi Hadley who locked in a time of 29.32 seconds. Claire Myler was the only other woman who finished the entire event, doing so just 0.11 seconds before the time limit ran out.
- Rebecca Roberts — 17.65 s
- Lucy Underdown — 24.38 s
- Naomi Hadley — 29.32 s
- Claire Myler — 59.89 s
- Donna Moore — 27.7 m
- Michaela Pearson — 20.44 m
- Sam Taylor — 20.21 m
- Rachel Greener — 17.95 m
- Grace Hilbourne — 17.42 m
- Nicola Bennett — 15.96 m
Event Three — Deadlift
The third event of the 2026 Britain’s Strongest Woman was the Deadlift. Specifically, it utilized a trump bar setup in a 60-second time cap. So, competitors faced a strategic choice between a standard 240-kg (529.1-lb) bar or a heavier 280-kg (617.3-lb) bar. Under the trump rules, completing even a single rep with the heavier barbell automatically outranked any number of successful lifts performed on the lighter bar.
The deadlift was the turning point of the 2026 Britain’s Strongest Woman competition. Lucy Underdown, also known as ‘The Deadlift Queen’, walked away with the win. Lucy knew what the number to beat was, which is why she decided to stop at four reps with the heavier barbell. However, it was clear to everyone that Lucy was capable of continuing had there been the need for that.
Claire Myler had an impressive showing on the deadlift, pulling 280 kilograms (617.3 pounds) for three reps. Moreover, she proceeded to do one additional rep on the lighter barbell in case someone tied her score. Grace Hilbourne rounded out the top three, securing two reps on the heavier bar, along with one rep on the lighter one.
- Lucy Underdown — 280 kg (4 reps)
- Claire Myler — 280 kg (3 reps) + 240 kg (1 rep)
- Grace Hilbourne — 280 kg (2 reps) + 240 kg (1 rep)
- Naomi Hadley — 240 kg (6 reps)
- Rebecca Roberts — 240 kg (5 reps)
- Donna Moore — 240 kg (4 reps)
- Sam Taylor — 240 kg (2 reps)
- Rachel Greener — 240 kg (1 rep)
- Michaela Pearson — 240 kg (1 rep)
- Nicola Bennett — 240 kg (1 rep)
Event Four — Stone to Shoulder
Moving on to the fourth event of the 2026 Britain’s Strongest Woman, the athletes had 60 seconds to repeatedly lift a 110-kilogram (242.5-pound) natural stone from the floor up to their shoulders. Each attempt required showing full control at the top to receive a referee signal before returning the stone to the mat.
Lucy Underdown dominated the event, proving to be the only competitor capable of shouldering the heavy stone twice within the allotted time. Her explosive power and technical precision allowed her to take the event win and ensure further separation at the top of the leaderboards.
Rebecca Roberts and Grace Hilbourne tied for second place, with both of them successfully logging a single rep. The remaining seven athletes were unable to get the stone to their shoulders, leaving them scoreless for the round.
- Lucy Underdown — 2 reps
- Rebecca Roberts — 1 rep
- Grace Hilbourne — 1 rep
- Naomi Hadley — 0 reps
- Claire Myler — 0 reps
- Donna Moore — 0 reps
- Rachel Greener — 0 reps
- Michaela Pearson — 0 reps
- Sam Taylor — 0 reps
- Nicola Bennett — 0 reps
Event Five — Sandbag Steeplechase
The 2026 Britain’s Strongest Woman concluded with the Sandbag Steeplechase. Consequently, the athletes were tasked with moving two 100-kg (220.5-lb) sandbags over an obstacle course within a strict 60-second time limit. They had to carry the heavy, shifting loads while navigating hurdles, making conditioning and footwork just as critical as raw power.
Grace Hilbourne set a blistering pace in the final event, blazing through the course with both sandbags in just 43.81 seconds. Her speed over the hurdles proved unbeatable, securing her a decisive event victory to close out the show.
Naomi Hadley put together a superb run to claim second place, finishing the course in 47.65 seconds. Overall champion Lucy Underdown took a risk-free approach to secure third place in 52.03 seconds and officially wrapped up her title defense.
- Grace Hilbourne — 4 in 43.81 s
- Naomi Hadley — 4 in 47.65 s
- Lucy Underdown — 4 in 52.03 s
- Rebecca Roberts — 4 in 54.59 s
- Rachel Greener — 3 in 38.41 s
- Sam Taylor — 3 in 40.24 s
- Claire Myler — 3 in 40.36 s
- Michaela Pearson — 3 in 42.91 s
- Donna Moore — 3 in 50.53 s
- Nicola Bennett — 2 in 16.30 s
