Derrick Lewis vs. Francis Ngannou Awful Fight.

In the UFC 226 co-main event, Derrick Lewis and Francis Ngannou collided inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Well, at least we thought they would collide.

Not many fans expected Francis Ngannou and Derrick Lewis to go past round 1. Well, it was terrible fight and went the distance. Derrick Lewis won by decision over Francis Ngannou but every including Joe Rogan called it the worst heavyweight fight of all-time.

Francis Ngannou entered tonight’s fight with a sporting 11-2 record, with all eleven of his wins coming by form of KO. Derrick Lewis came into event having won seven of his past eight fights with overall 19-5 in his MMA career.

Early in the fight Lewis went for a high kick and Ngannou went for a combination. Ngannou blocked a switch kick he was being extremely patient in whole fight and output was almost non-existent in the first round. Lewis, at least, threw occasional kicks, including an impressive-looking switch kick, and that was likely enough to get him the nod in the round.

In the first two rounds both fighters combined just langed 15 strikes, and land just 18 more in the third, with Lewis landing 22 overall in the bout. Lewis showed more urgency in the final minute, which was enough to seal the deal.

Final Result: Derrick Lewis def. Francis Ngannou via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)

Lewis (20-5, 1 NC) won his second consecutive fight and eighth in his past nine. Ngannou dropped to 11-3 with his second straight loss.

This fight was painfully boring.
