Today is the first death anniversary of Dallas McCarver
August 22, 2018 marks the first death anniversary of the beloved 26-year-old bodybuilder Dallas McCarver. Today, bodybuilding community remembers the loss of one of its young talents in Dallas McCarver.
Dallas “Big Country” McCarver was only 26 years old yet was able to accomplish a lot in the sport. He touches a great many hearts in the sport showing that he was a truly great man. One of the many individuals effected by his passing was a brother like training partner Flex Lewis.
The 6-time 212 Olympia champion Flex Lewis and Dallas McCarver both pushed each other in Flex’s gym Dragons Lair. Flex often called Dallas McCarver his little brother and as such he wrote very emotional words today, delivering a powerful message:
“Life’s short and as cliche as that is….. it’s true. None of us know when it’s time… so live life!”
Flex wrote in an Instagram post:
“A genuine moment caught by Ryan Loco at the end of a VERY tough Arm workout.

Myself and Frank Mcgrath, at the end the workout looked up and I said “that was for you” I really had to dig deep, physically and emotionally just keep moving.
I want to personally thank both Ryan and Frank for being amazing friends knowing, yet not speaking about it yesterday.

I knew this day was coming for a week and the feeling built up day by day, being in prep it’s not good I know but there’s nothing anyone can say or suggest to help, it’s been only a year and still not had the time to deal with it.
–
Dallas passed in the early hours of the 22nd (today) but yesterday/ today are both days i needed/ need to get through.

There’s not a day goes by that I don’t think about this kid, someone who I took under my wing, called my little big brother, a real gentle giant who was a good kid, and a big teddy bear to my daughter, amazing friend to those he kept close, prankster, joker loved by everyone’s kids, oh and he was also a savage in the gym, life’s short and as cliche as that is….. it’s true. None of us know when it’s time so live life!

I more likely will be radio silent today on my socials just to have my time. Tomorrow is another day and tomorrow we celebrate a life lead to the max. Today I have the memories of the calls, the hospital, and the tears of seeing/ finding out he left us as flashbacks, but I am keeping myself incredible busy on my day off the gym.
We miss you brother daily so proud to have you on the @the_dragons_lair looking down it’s been a year but gone and never will you be forgotten.”
Earlier this month Flex also revealed a beautiful painting of Dallas McCarver at his gym:
4x Men’s Physique champ and a close friend of Dallas also pays his tribute “I miss you, dude.”:
“1 year ago today we lost this great soul. I never had too many people in the industry that I considered real friends but Dallas certainly was one of them.

I miss the hell out of you dude. Miss your big ass waddling down the halls of the hotels telling me how hungry you were. I really valued our international trips last year where we got to hang out and just chill as a couple of dudes. Bodybuilding aside it was nice to know the real you, your dreams, your plans, and your heart.
–
You were taken too soon bro. I know you had so much in store for you & so many more plans besides bodybuilding. But we all know God, needed that muscle in heaven & I know he is taking great care of you. –
I hope you can look down at us all and know how much you meant to so many people. The legacy you left is of a man that is loved and appreciated.
–
Damn dude, we miss you man. I know you are looking down anxious for the O this year, if you can do me a favor big guy, send some of that Big Country intensity down to me for the last few weeks of prep!
–
You’re always in my thoughts dude. Til we meet again my brother.
–
Love you dude.”
Dallas was a monster of monsters. God knew that there is nobody among all BB like dallas and God wanted to compete with him that’s why God chose him. A huge respect and salute you Dallas from India.
