Daniel Cormier vs. Derrick Lewis
Tonight in the UFC 230’s main event at Madison Square Garden two-division champion Daniel Cormier defends his heavyweight title against the Black Beast Derrick Lewis.
Derrick Lewis recently scored a great comeback knockout win at UFC 229 when he defeated Alexander Volkov to get a title shot at UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
First Round
The fight begins and Derrick Lewis lands a pair of hard kicks and also attempts a head kick but Daniel Cormier blocks it. Cormier closes the distance quickly and easily takedown Lewis. Most of the first round Cormier stay on the top landing some decent ground and pound. Lewis tries to stands up and gets to his feet but Cormier drags him back to the ground again.

Two Round
Daniel Cormier starts with a kick to the body. Lewis leaps in with some big combo punches and then a switch kick. Cormier again shoots in and scores a takedown. Lewis stands up but DC drags him down. Derrick gives up his back and DC locks in a rear-naked choke and Lewis promptly taps.

Daniel Cormier defeats Derrick Lewis via submission (RNC) at 2:14 of round two
With this victory, DC became the first fighter in UFC to have successful defenses of both the heavyweight and light heavyweight championship. He’s now 22-1 (1 NC) after his 15th career finish.
“You know what surprised me when I took that last shot he hit me in the right eye and I was blinking for about 30 seconds, like what hit me. Everything he did had unbelieavable power.”
He had words for his expected next foe, former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.
“Brock Lesnar, when you come, bring that brand new WWE title,” Cormier said. “I feel like being a WWE champion too.”

Daniel Cormier won the heavyweight title at July’s UFC 226 event where he defeated Stipe Miocic in a first-round knockout.
